Decided to try out modding a sprite... it's indexed... 16 colors... it's a bmp... but I'm getting a whole ton of errors when I attempt to import. Is there a simple list of what exactly is needed for the image to be compatible?
I'm attaching an image of the error message too.
256 colours.
Sprites are multi-palette, 16 palettes of 16 colours, so it has to be stored as 8bit/256 colours.
Okay that's good to know, thanks. I switched it back to 256 colors... but I'm still getting the same errors.
Can you share the file to look at it?
Sure I'll attach it. I was attempting to make a dark haired version of the knight.
Edit: seems that when I was converting it back and forth trying to get it to work, I messed up the image a bit. Oops... Not exactly presentable looking.
I thought you said you changed it to 256 colours? This is still 16.
It is? Dang... I guess I don't know what I'm doing then.
Success! I got it to import without any errors. Clearly I have a lot to learn to figure this out... since his hair turned blue when I imported. But yay! it worked :D Thanks for the help!
Edit: Sorry for posting this in the Tutorials subforum and not under Help. Didn't notice that I'd done that until I came back and couldn't find the thread.
