how do you make equip cross bow equip regular bows instead via ffpatcher?
You can't do it with the patcher, you'll need to use ASM hacks. I believe that one comes prepackaged along with FFTOrgASM.
i see where it says equip x but what do u do then ?
On the drop down list, find "EQE2", as this is the one that edits Equip Crossbow. You'll see that EQE2 is marked 0x10. If you look at the list in the textbox EQ2s, you'll see that 0x10 corresponds to Crossbow. Conveniently, bows correspond to 0x08 right next to it. So change that value to 0x18 to allow both crossbows and bows, and patch away.
