You can't play an .iso from your memory stick without CFW if you're talking about PSP.
I refuse to play Final Fantasy Tactics again until I am able to do my FF6 patch! And, FFT 1.3 doesn't technically count as FFT: so there!

if you played the iso then youve already got CFW if you cant play the patched one then you did it wrong

the only thing different i did, was, i downloaded FFT as a cso. i converted it to an iso. the iso worked on my psp, but when i patched it, it wont load. other then that i dont think i did anything wrong, i followed the directions down to a T. i even tried after patching the iso. to convert it back to a cso then try and play it on my psp, didnt work

I'll say again, if you don't have CFW then you can't play images, hacked or not. If you DL'd one off the internet without an original copy thats theft, if the ppl who made it wanted it to be free they wouldn't put a price on it. Ok the first step is to hack your psp with CFW if you don't know how ask me, I'd be happy to help. Make a folder on your memstick root called "ISO" yes all caps. Now pop in your copy of the WotL and turn on psp. Press select on the psp main menu. Switch the usb device to the umd drive (dont remember actual name) and exit the menu. Now go to the usb icon on psp main menu enable and connct to your computer. A folder will pop up with the game image, just drag and drop to werever you want or right click it and copy (yes it is that easy on CFW). Use UMDGen to copy the fftpack.bin file and use fftpatcher to decrypt it. Make any changes you want (within reason stated in other forum posts). now rebulid using fftpatcher. Click and drag newly rebulit bin file over the old one in the UMDGen window and overwrite it. In the UMDGen window click the save icon and save it to your ISO folder on the root of your psp memstick. Thats it go to game and enjoy. Just a reminder you can also play the psx patched version on the psp as well if interested just ask me.

yes i have CFW, yes i own the game wotl. I am unable to open my FFT.bin in the UMDGEN because it will only open iso. files, and when i pulled it from my FFT:WOTL it is a bin file and will not open in UMDGEN

Use ISO buster or a similar program to convert the bin to iso.

ok reconnect psp to copy the image right click the image and save as -> iso

EDIT: wait a sec, you first said you dl'd it as a cso and now you said its a bin file. which one is it? also you cant directly rip the image into a cso, im not even sure how to rip as a bin file straight from psp. just re-rip saving it as an iso, there shouldnt be any other problems unless you dont actually own a copy.

okay, i OWN FFT WOTL, i riped my own game to a Bin. file, ALSO ive downloaded a CSO. file of FFT, which were are not talking about cause we dont know how authentic it is. were dealing with the actual UMD of FFT WOTL that has been ripped to my comp, and kit is a bin file, also, when i did that it comes up as a RAR. and in the Rar it is FFTpack.bin, and that is the only bin file

thats very odd, normaly a simple drag and drop copy makes a raw iso. i really can't help you much if you cant get a clean iso. maybe try downloading one. Or try connecting like you would to rip the game but instead of ripping open umdgen and click on the open button on umdgen navigate to the image and load it into umdgen. then save it there as an iso, after that just open the folders till you see the fftpack.bin right click and extract. this should definetly work, also sorry if i seemed to be accusing you of piracy i dont support it much

okay, status update, for some reason now where i go to rip my game from my psp it comes up as just 1 file, an iso. now what i am asking is just a little more clear instructions on how to apply the 1.3 patch which i have downloaded to that so i can play, yes i have CFW and yues i have UMDgen if thats needed. thank you

also just wondering, i was looking at it in UMDgen, you said right click extract fftpack.bin, well okay? extract it and then do what with the extracted bin file?

in the fftpatcher at the top click psp -> utilities -> extract fftpack.bin
youre gonna want to put it in it's own separate folder, and to be extra cautious make a copy of the extracted fftpack to mod later. now apply your changes as you wish through the patcher and sprites as well (just don't mod unit.bin or other such files as we dont know how to mod the psp versions yet) now use fftpatcher psp -> utilites -> rebuild fftpack.bin and point it to the folder you extracted to. now open umdgen and drag and drop the fftpack.bin over the original file and click yes for the overwrite. now on umdgen click file -> save as and name it something different or save it in a diff spot so you keep the orig iso and now have the modded one, try playing as an uncompressed iso, then cso. enjoy.

i had this problem too..... make sure all the files you alter or replace are kept the same size i had this problem when i first messed with sprites, and always always always use and un modded iso to add the fftpack.bin file back into
