So I edit the Grog Hill battle in preperation of Lightning entering my patch as a new character. Well, I put her on 0 X, 0 Y and give her all the stuff and a palette of 1 and a Unit ID of 7F (also tried it with 8).

However, when I enter battle, suddenly my Samurai has a Calculator Portrait tied to a different palette (the red one) and his sprite is practically missing (you either see a grey box or colored lines).

Anyone have any clue why this is happening?

... okay. Now I'm really confused. Instead of adding her as another character, I just replaced a squire and now two of my units are sprite-less.

I think I'm going to for-go Lightning until this is resolved. We really need to know more about ENTD editing in this aspect, especially with the VK patch wanting to add three new characters.

I tried to make a ridiculously hard rare battle but when i finally finished it only 3 of the units showed up.  I was like "wheres the other like 8 guys" :\

Still not sure what caused it.

Well, all the battles have character limits, but I don't think anyone knows what they are on any of the battles.

If my new character hadn't appeared, I would've simply labeled it a case of character limit and moved on. However, that's not that case at all ... my character appear perferctly without a flaw, but when it starts to make my non-guest units glitch and bug ... well, there's something obviously wrong, and it's not character limit.

The thing is, i'm pretty sure the map can have more than 3 enemies.  The map normally had more and i did add some because i didn't know there was a cap at the time.

Are you sure you aren't breaking the 9 sprites limit?

Anything is possible as long as it is within the hardware's limits. (ie. disc space, RAM, Video RAM, processor, etc.)
<R999> My target market is not FFT mod players
<Raijinili> remember that? it was awful

Well! Since my question is gone ... are you sure Ramza is included in the sprite limit?

The Zirekile Falls, there is;

Ramza - 1 total
Agrias - 2 total
Delita - 3 total
Gafgarion - 4 total
Ovelia - 5 total
4 party members - 9 total
Enemy knights - 10 total

Oh my, I was wrong, I just checked and zirekile's max squad is 4 units.

4- 4 Units (including Ramza)
5- Enemy Knights
6- Gafgarog
7- Delita
8- Ovelia
9- Agrias

Sorry for the confusion. The sprite limit is the main reason why you rarely (or ever?) see a male/female of the same job in the same battle.
