I just recently started using the wonderful tools that have been produced here.  FFT is by far my most favorite game I've ever played.  And these, thusly (which may not be a word), are my sprite projects.

Chapter 4 Holy Knight Ramza

Rob

Erin

I think this sprite may have some issues.

I've also done some Shrine Knight recolors, but they're not impressive enough to post. But if anyone wants them I have: Vormav in green, Izlude in grey, and Kletian in Violet. I also have a bmp of ONLY Ramza's head, which makes it easier to place him on bodies, let me know if you want me to post that.

Ramza and Erin are nice, Izlude recolor isn't that bad either, I just sugest to lessen brightness of symbol on Ramza cape, it's way too bright.

If those are your first sprites then great job!

The last one looks good, didn't think female monk would look good on meliadoul.

Ramza's cape is too saturated

Use existing palettes.

Thanks guys.

I realize that using palettes that don't correspond with the in-game palletes makes it kind of "unreal" but still I like bright teal's, which the game seems to lack. I'm gonna wait till I see Ramza in-game before I desaturated the cape, but it does seem a bit bright.

While the game lacks teal, it's there, to some extent:

Though it's your call on whether or not they should be used...

Oh and, try saving/uploading as either PNGs or BMPs, for quality's sake.

Btw, you forgot to delete the "stand-out" part of hair in Ramza portrait.

1st and 2nd's teal color is too bright. Follow what mav suggests.

3rd one is good.
Does the face look pale, or what?

On the other hand, the portraits should have some tweaking with their hairs, eyes, face and smile for their own character.

Quotepost pictures in PNG for better quality

A common misconception is that JPG images ruin the image.
If you choose to not compress the jpg file, the image will still be have high quality.
The good thing is, jpgs has a smaller size than pngs. (GIMP does this)

But for an quicker method, just post them in PNG, as Sen said.

They are posted in .png now, I may try and make those fixes tomorrow, honestly though I'm fairly satisfied.

The colors are too saturated. :)

EDIT: not really fixed, just fixed the saturation.
about 3 colors had 90+ saturation value. You should avoid that.

By the way, for the Ramza sprite the gold armor matches the boots, face, and hair a little too closely for my personal tastes. It's coming off as well done, but boring.

Looking good Mike. Yes, too saturated indeed.
Kindly upload the images to other image hosting sites. I can't view imageshack. Thanks.

Here's a concept for Ovelia as a knight. Female Monk's chest, Dycedarg's Skirt, and Temp Knight's arms...  needs alot of work but I think it looks promising :p
