Title: Jump with diff attacks?

Okay, i wasn't sure where to put this but I decided to have me some fun and slap worker 8 into my party.  Now I don't know how to do it with the patcher so i used FFTastic to edit oned of my party members into Worker 8.  I picked my unused male mediator and put him as Worker 8.  Gave him item, Move +3, and fly.  Also tried his gender with monster trying to get his sprite correct and everything.

Well in the menu he looks like a glitched up Worker 8 with a female mediator portrait.  In the battle placement he has an Male Orcale sprite with the female mediator portrait.  However in battle he was a female mediator.  Well when his turn rolled around I moved him and used Dispose.  He jumped up into the air as he did the attack as the female mediator and stayed up there until I moved him next turn.

I don't know any hacking or anything but that's just what happened.  Maybe yall can pick this appart and learn something from it.

edit: also when i checked his status in battle, dispite having the work commands and all the work skills, when you check his jobs (like seeing was skills a new guest knows) he has the plauge job in there with those skills

Change his sprite from Generic Female to Generic Monster (not sure if FFEdit can do that, FFTastic can).

If you don't move and Dispose even more, you'll go further higher.

And Crush is like an instant Jump attack, animation wise, iirc.

That's right Dormin. I posted that a while ago. I was testing all the skills in the game to see which ones used which animations for human characters. I also deduced that the animation values must be single bytes, and that those values must mean different things for different kinds of sprites.

For example: when a bomb uses its bite skill it uses a bite animation, but if a human uses it s/he will use a normal weapon animation.

It just so happens that the anim value used by crush makes humans do the insta-jump.

Thats kinda cool! I know some people were wanting to do an insta-jump, well this is that in a way.

I just wish it could be combined with the limit breaks since they handle charge attacks correctly. (can't move after choosing target.)

Then we could have Braver actually look right! I don't know why the makers of FFT couldn't do more with the Limits

Cross Slash could be something similar to Repeating Fist only with weapon. I'll stop there because I know y'all have probably talked this into the ground already.

I've never found any skills that handle multi-hit weapon strikes correctly. But, most of the limit break skills really just need better effects. Some DO need a complete overhaul.
