Thanks. Yeah, great idea Cheetah.

An example would be the Alucard sprite on the main page. That is ridiculously colorful and well done. Who knew portraits would take so much extra thought.. Does this also apply to sprites? I don't want to do a whole sprite and its animations just to find out I'm screwed. xD

Thanks, Kage. But unfortunately I made that before realizing I was doing it with too many colors, haha..

Not bad, but man. How do you guys manage to keep so much color on your portraits? It's amazing work and much harder to do than it looks.

Help! / Teleport In / Units leaving map?

Hey guys! So I've been messing around, kind of experimenting with my own hack and how to make my own events and such. I'd say I'm making some decent progress which is very fun, interesting and time consuming!

So for my first scene, I'm just testing the mechanics, basically. I have Ramza run around the map and do some simple animations and speak, and then he teleports out. This is where my problem comes up. After that, I have Delita come in 2 seconds afterwards (or is suppose to), through a TeleportIn. But the problem is, he just never does. I believe I have his settings right in FFTpatcher and I'm pretty sure I have the commands for it to work correct as well.

Can anybody tell me if something looks wrong with this? Again, by all means, I'm no expert at this. Just started event editing last night. Delita is unit 21.
Instead of doing what I hoped, (teleporting in, say some dialogue and then start walking away while the screen fades), he instead, does not teleport in at all, his dialogue shows up, and THEN it fades away. I'm assuming the map doesn't recognize he's on the map yet so that's why he isn't teleporting in or showing up. And my last question is, does anybody know how to make units leave sides of the map? Thanks guys.

I feel like the eyes are hiding just a bit too much in the portrait, but I think it gives the character a bit of personality. It doesn't look bad, but I feel like I'm not seeing enough.

Oh yeah, I definitely noticed that in a couple random battles. Trying to do these random battles with 3 newborn characters is almost suicide, but I manage to get by. Barely. Thanks for the text consideration. =] I'll keep working on it. If anybody else that happened to check it out as well thinks some of my descriptions are bad, please feel free to mention it.

I thought that was the case as well, but it turns out they actually had periods for all the skills. (Or the ones I looked at, anyway.) I've checked out through a lot your descriptions for FFT+ and just logging all the suggestions I have for them. You don't have to change them, since it's not that important, but I think it looks nice. For the most part, you just change from using periods in some skills to not having them in others. I point 'em out in the new log I'm doin' now. =p

Here's what I got for an example. Tell me what you think? For the most part, your text is just fine, just inconsistent in some areas.


Ignore the duplicate priest skills. :P Still messing with it.

I'll be sure to do that next log. An example of what I mean is..

Like, the skill "Hold the line!" Its description says "Puts all allies into the defensive position."

^ That's perfect, whereas a skill like Wish says "Prayer that brings allies back to life"

There's no period, yeah? But if I recall correctly, that's how the original tactics did it - without periods. I personally would rather all skill have the periods, although that's not how it was originally done. The only thing the skill descriptions really need is consistency, meaning you should take out the periods you've placed in your custom skills to match properly with the skills that were already made for the game - or the other way around. That just makes it look more professional and clean, in my opinion.

Completely unnecessary and picky, but looks nice. =] I happened to found a couple silly glitches/bugs, but nothing serious at all. I'll throw in another log later tonight. I'll specify some of the skills for you as well.

So I went to check out Vanilla FFT after checking through some skills to see that they actually do all have proper punctuation in the skill descriptions. From what I've seen so far, (I haven't unlocked many jobs yet), you're only missing periods on Cadet and Squire skills for the most part.

^ I agree! It's nice to have that ability right off the spot, but I've done this so many times and have wasted so many turns because of it. :(

Oh yeah, I loved this mod. I only got to disc 2 with it, and there was a difficulty mod that made the game so much more fun. HP cap was 30k and damage limit was taken off, and it was very necessary for the later areas of the game. It pissed me off, though. Fighting Jenova on the boat on disc 1 took ages. I had to literally grind off of normal enemies until my characters were like level 27..

Aah, there's so many cute/good cosplays. Really diggin' that Auron. That would be annoying to keep one eye closed for the whole day, you would think.
