Final Fantasy Hacktics

I was wondering if there is an easy way to turn the throwable-only weapons (3 shuriken and bombs) into equippable items with formula WP*WP like guns.  It seems, though, that I'd have to take an existing weapon type and replace it with these items, right?

(The goal here is to make a new skillset for the ninja class while still retaining the coolness of shuriken)

Not that I know of ... though, maybe replacing a weapon with the weapon palette/graphic may work.
