Riiiiiiiiighteouuuuuuuuus!

I went ahead and added your playlist to jakeallen's "compilation of SSCCs" topic at ID as well, where all the current solo challenges are being tracked.

Best of luck with your Solo Glass Cannon! Remember, being slower than the enemy is an -advantage- for the summoner.
Let them bunch up together all they want on their first turn...

Hmm..

Well, I just asked him about it, and he said you're not on the ban list at all.

No idea why you're getting that message.
24
Terrific, thanks! That's a lot of really good information--I'm completely new to livestreaming as a form of entertainment.

I need to learn all about it now, because I also want to set up a livestreaming event for the release of Haxtun Institute as well. That'll probably be around the same time as the Golgorand fight.

Are you still getting that message, Dome?

I haven't encountered that problem at all. ID's my primary forum these days, so I'm frequently on it. If you continue to have issues, I'll hit Arch up as well.

@ Raven -

Absolutely, yeah. Twist Headband and Power Sleeve are a solo thief's best friends!

I'm actually already set up and ready for Golgorand at this point. I'll be uploading the rest of the videos this whole week, and then I'm taking a lengthy break (until about mid-Dec). That will give viewers a chance to catch up, but also give my sanity a chance to cool down.

After that, I'm going to schedule a live-streaming event for the battle at Golgorand, which may very well take several hours (even with the best gear and highest level possible). Should make for a truly great experience.

Hello, my old friends - I'm here to plug my LPs!

I've started a fully recorded Thief SSCC. By "fully recorded," I mean that I'm recording all successes, failures and most out-of-battle stuff. And by "most" I mean formation screen stuff and shopping.. I'm not recording cutscenes for the most part.

And by "cutscenes" I mean those story things.

And by "things" I mean stuff.

Thief SSCC playlist:
http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL73FB72C01D917FD6&feature=viewall

I'm also doing the SkyBlock 2.0 Hardcore Challenge in Minecraft:
http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLEBE011D30F4E8389&feature=viewall

And a "magic only" challenge in Terraria:
http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL9E93DFC347CAECD6&feature=viewall

Enjoy! The bulk of the discussions regarding the Thief SSCC are happening on the GF board, but I'll keep an eye on this thread as well.

NEWS UPDATE: The Haxtun Institute of Technology has been tentatively pushed back for release in December, for QUALITY reasons.

The producers have run into some editing snags, and want to make sure that both the feature film and the parody trailers that will accompany it are at their best. I asked them why we needed to push the project back for the sake of these (seemingly pointless) parody trailers (for films they don't intend to make), and they said it's because the trailers are part of a "package deal"--the whole point of this release is to showcase the talents and range-of-genres of The Collective Production Company, to generate local interest. The trailers are meant to show prospective writers/filmmakers that we can do comedy, action, drama, etc, in the hopes of recruiting these local artists for the next big project.

Fair enough, I guess.

I will continue to keep you guys informed of the progress.

Yeah, feel free. I think she'd definitely appreciate some constructive criticism from someone who A) isn't her husband and B) isn't a young girl on DeviantArt.

Although, be sure to check out the rest of the gallery - Ovelia was one of the very first ones she did, and the "My Little Princesses" (f'rexample) was more recent, so that should give you an idea of which elements have improved already, and which elements she may still need to work on.

If any of you are interested in sharing the trailer with other people, to generate more interest, here's just a brief description to go along with it:

The Haxtun Institute of Technology is a dark comedy, approximately 20 minutes long, about a woman interested in furthering her education, and a Dean of Students who may or may not be who he says he is, and is generally a bit psychotic.

We are going to have two screenings: the first will be at a local bar/restaurant, which I intend to set up live-streaming for, and will be a very casual event--a chance for close friends, online and IRL, to chat with the cast and crew. The second screening is more of a "premiere," and will be screened at a movie theater in Greeley, CO; the premiere will also be the day we upload the film to the Internets.

EDIT: And yes, Eternal, I wholeheartedly anticipate having you "in attendance" for that screening party!

Goodness.

It's been so long since I've spent any real amount of time at FFH. There are so many new people and projects!

However, I'm stopping by to spread some exciting news to some of my old friends here. It's not FFT-related, and I still don't foresee having enough spare time in my life to do anything FFT-related for a long time yet, but there are some people around here who appreciated a lot of the little projects I did.

This is an upcoming short film that my friends and I have made.

It stars my wife and I, primarily, and is based on an article I wrote about 7 years ago.

Trailer:

The screening party will be sometime next month, and I intend to set up some kind of live-streaming, so that many of my online friends can join in on the fun. Let me know if any of you are interested!

My wife is trying to teach herself digital art with a tablet, and has practiced by doing several "Disney characters as something else" pics, because she was going through a severe Disney nostalgia kick for awhile.

This is one of a series on Final Fantasy characters, and it's the only FFT one:

Rapunzel as Princess Ovelia Atkascha

She asked me if anyone I know would like them, and I immediately thought of Lasting Dawn. Keep in mind, though; she's still a beginner at drawing by computer.

Here's the rest of her gallery:

Ho studiato italiano per tre semestri ora, quindi io sono l'uomo snello di uccidere le persone con parole italiane.

Also, Summer 2011 - I'm dead serious.

I've never seen it, but I hear good things.

Quote from: "Asmo X"Lasting Dawn isn't your friend. He told me himself that he wished you would be fisted in the asshole by a longshoreman.

I'm sure LD appreciates that you took the time to pass that message along for him.

Either something isn't wired properly in my head, or you lack reading comprehension skills. If I explain anything, the explanation is flawed in your mind. As long as it's just you and I, there's no way to settle any sort of debate like this. Everything you say only convinces me further that you're an ape with anger management issues, and everything I say only convinces you further that I'm a sensitive retard. (It must be our avatars....)

You immediately stomp on anyone who enters this argument with the gall to claim that my posts make sense, so that takes care of that.

So what can I say? I'll make one last attempt to explain myself to you, since you keep insisting, but I don't expect it to improve the situation here.

The sentence you're asking me to explain seems simple enough. I've been rereading it, and I can't, for the life of me, figure out what it is about it that's so hard to understand. You, of all people, know that I have a tendency to oscillate between taking internet shit too personally, and letting that shit slide right off my shoulders. The distinction is in the presence or absence of humor. That's it. It was my way of explaining that I'm aware of my own weakness for forum drama.

I try, as hard as possible, to keep my humor upfront, because the only thing this community has consistently appreciated me for is my sense of humor. I get sucked into the serious business sometimes, and I make efforts to joke my way out, like with the prom thing, as a way of reminding onlookers (moreso than you, actually) that I'm still me.

I walked into this Voldemort drama with the 'serious business' flag up, but I already explained that someone asked me to come here and throw down some neutral perspective. You were right--that I didn't fully understand the situation. But I'm not convinced that any of you did either. Zodiac wasn't sure of what to do, and he admitted at one point that he took my advice into consideration. If nothing else, I at least convinced Zodiac to revoke Arch's moderator status and leave his account unbanned. Most of the others provided nothing more than "we'll miss you Arch"s and "good riddance" attitudes, usually in a sentence or less. And you.. You talk about that timeline as though I'm the one confusing things here. You started this thread and, less than an hour later, you told Voldemort he was going to die alone. Then, the next day, you called him an FFH legend. Later, after the whole situation with LD, you started bitching and moaning about the way he acted in the end.

I've made the point, repeatedly, and have seen the point ignored, repeatedly, but I'll say it again with smaller words: Asmo is complaining about how one guy hurt another guy's feelings at FFH. ASMO!? Am I the only one who sees how fucking ridiculous that is?

Although, I do agree with you on that one; Lasting Dawn is my friend, and I greatly admire the work he does here, so I felt it was cold of Voldemort to treat him like that. However, I think that's Lasting Dawn's problem, and you're the LAST person who should be waving the PEACE, LOVE AND RESPECT flag around here. How many times have I had that flag shoved down my throat over the years? Particularly by you?

As for the inexplicable change I mentioned earlier.. Perhaps the reason I'm the first guy to say anything about it is because it's only my personal perspective. When I first released the Villain of Ivalice, you had a lot of nice things to say about it. In fact, it was a conversation I had with you, in my Kanbabrif topic, that ultimately led to my decision to give a moogle character in Part II the speaking mannerisms he has. Then, one day, out of nowhere, you posted "CoK fucking sucks" in that Spam topic about "things you've always wanted to say" or whatever it was. Since then, you've been the one and only member of FFH that I can count on to be among the first responders to anything I post, anywhere. I'm still not sure what it was I did to gain your obsessive disdain, but I've got it.  Anyone can look through your posting history and see that your first year at FFH consisted of a lot more patience, respect and honest criticism. Then, there's a certain point when your posts began to focus, more and more, on STFUs and the like. In all honesty, I have pretty thick skin about the Kanbabrif stuff. I don't care if you like it or not--it's just a hobby I once had. I just think you're an inconsistent prick. I, personally, believe that you are more of an asshole nowadays because you built a reputation of being good at it.

TL;DR - Fuck you and your fucking refusal to fucking ask me to fucking go to the fucking prom. I'm going with Dome, you fuck.

What about the prom?
