Is there a way to actually import this into the game, though?
We will build cities in a day, we will build towers to the heavens. We will be heroes.
This sleeping city doesn't know what's coming. She doesn't feel the heat.
Even when the darkness surrounds us, we shall light up the night.

Why couldn't you just put it where the original map is(noting if the size is the same)?

Hmm.. I just haven't worked much with maps yet.
I'd assume this has the power to royally screw up events, though.

It would make them look weird if you changed a lot of elevations.

Hm.  I recall Notti talking about how each panel really has 4 values.  Must be a pain to input, excellent work!

They do, it is more or less setting a point for each corner... so i set the SW corner to byte D2, but the SE to f4, it will slope...then i have to go into the terrain data chunk and change what type of incline it is, set it to not be flat anymore, and then change the hieght, and since its slopeing, that means math! :/ not a flato ut 01 for hieght of 1 >.<

Makes sense when you realize there are no controls in the map viewer.

if someone were bored enough and had little to no social life, they could make a map editor now

I'm thinking about writing a program that splits up a mesh file into separate files: one file for each chunk. It would be a pretty quick program to write, and it would make it easier to find the data you want and change it. Plus, if you changed the length of a chunk of data (like by adding polygons), it could recombine the chunks intelligently (fixing the header, warning about problems, etc.) so you don't have to worry about making a broken mesh file.

Stay tuned.
