I love me some Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. The problem is that the game is rather easy though.
I'd love to play a "Hard Mode" or even just something that balances things out. Why hasn't it been made? :/

Some dude is hacking it, but he's keeping all to himself. I looked into it about a year ago and the community is nothing like this. It's just a bunch of people waiting around for one dude to get done. It wouldn't be so bad if the guy wasn't being jerk and intentionally hoarding to himself. He's got a terrible God complex.

I don't want to do anything too crazy. Just make it a bit harder. Remove or rebalance unbalanced items. Increase some drop rates for some things. Not anything crazy like a new scenario.
I wonder if I could do that myself. I'll check some guides out. Any help would be appreciated.
The more complicated stuff would be adding in the new content from the Saturn version. There's one new level, a new boss, a new song, and you can play as Maria when you're done. That would be more complicated.

Wierd what this thread degraded to. Not unexpected, but still, wierd.
Anyway, Havermayer's right. It's one of the best PS1 games, and probably the best 2d platformer I've ever played. Much like FFT though, when you know how to manipulate it, it's simple.

From what little I saw of the game's graphics, such a thing didn't look like it would be too visible during gameplay. She seems to show them in the official artwork for the game, however. A google image search of the game turns that up rather easily because it is the official artwork.

SOTN is a direct sequel to Rondo of Blood (which was never released over here). If anyone plays SOTN, I highly recommend checking out Rondo as well. It's harder to emulate, but it's worth it.

The 3D remake looks pretty lame. I just don't like the art style, or new character designs. Original was perfect as it was.
