Best rpg battle music?

We have a music thread and an rpg thread.  Let's marry the two and delight in posting it the offspring of such a  holy matrimony.

The battle music in RPG's is usually well produced, since you'll usually be hearing it a LOT.  What's your vote for the best?

I'd have to say that the Laguna battle music from FF8 and the battle music from Baten Kaitos rank in the top two.  Chrono Cross get's honorable mention for some of the battle music(although the main one is hella annoying)

I don't know about anyone else, but I love the Jenova battle music from Final Fantasy VII. That and the regular boss battle music from the same game.

Yes another Baldur's Gate song. This battle theme plays during really epic battles, like Dragons and Demi-Liches that you aren't supposed to fight in a normal playthrough. Even at super high levels, these battles are a bitch.

I'd also say Breath of Fire 2 normal battle theme number two, notably because the standard battle theme just changes halfway through the game, as does the overworld music.  Quite a revolutionary concept -- music changing without a major environmental shift -- but I can't seem to find it on youtube with all the other damn themes from that list running around everywhere.

Probably because BoF:DQ is the best of the entire series, and while three did have the best dragon system AND the awesome aussie dolphin, it was also my least favorite of the series.

I can't say anything bad about DQ because I've never played it

HOWEVER

Bof3 and 4 are close to my heart (yes I have one) so... um... when DQ came out I was dissapointed to see it was so different from BOF4 and especially BOF3

I loved BOF3... the aussie dolphin and dragon system were epic

some day (hopefully before I'm married) I'll play DQ and tell you what I think

Well...I say that because unlike FFT, you don't get free range of a world map that I know of except in sacred stones...even though I haven't played that recent remake game yet, so I don't know.

Other than the small matter of linear game play the FE series has all of the makings of a TRPG.

Though the stories are just about always copy paste the series is great. Woot for FE.

I is a FFVII fanboy.  So any FFVII battle song is awesome.  Also, the song from the battle where you fight Algus in FFT.

The new FE(i.e. WII) is pretty damn hard for the first chapter, but how cheap you are then determines the rediculous difficulty spike towards the end.

I can enjoy most of any Fire Emblem's music (RPG? Strategy? RPG/Strategy?)

Also Voldemort has gotten me re-hooked on Shoji Meguro's music from Digital Devil Saga.

And don't bash me for liking this bastard born Final Fantasy game's music.. but I acutally like the battle music for Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest

I also liked Antidote (in the snow? not quite sure on the complete title's name) and Under the Stars from our beloved FFT (again... strategy/RPG?)


I remember thinking back in the day how FF7's boss music was the shit... not so much my opinion anymore.
