What is the exact process I need to download and play hacked versions?

I have looked at other people's descriptions on how to download and play, but I don't understand anything of what they are saying. I'm on a windows and want to play hacked versions. I can't figure out what to do after I download the duckstation emulator. I tried downloading a ROM after that to see if it would work, but I cannot even get that to work. Please help me out!
