I use FFTacText editor to modify text (such as skill names, class names, decription), it shows the current length and the max byte on the button.

Is it OK to keep the text within the max byte length? Or I have to make every text having the same length as the original.

Safer to keep it the same.

Not unless you do it with a hex editor.

no... world.bin really doesn't get all that messed up. i learned that if you change the size of a name you just have to make sure and make up the equivalent in characters for it further down the list weather its more or less because one list carries over into the next.

It's possible, but I've had it screw up anyway. Hex editing is the only way to be 100% sure.
