Hello and lots of questions

So I was looking around for some meliadoul art today and I stumbled across this site. Now I love Tactics, played the original countless times and just finished WOTL for the 3rd time. This seems to promise a massive load of replay value added, I love the enthusiasm I see for such an awesome game

...if I can figure it out.

So I've only played Tactics on my PSX/PS2/PS3/jailbroken PSP, WOTL on my PSP (doesn't work anymore) and iphone (currently un-jailbroken), so I have no idea how to operate any files that may be on this site.

1. How do I get anything here to work
2. What are completed build packages that I can get
3. What minor mods can I get to tweak those packages
4. What are the features of those packages/mods
5. Why have I not found this sooner?


I know its absurdly noobish questions, and the odds of me actually contributing much to your work here is basically nil because I'm no programmer, but any help I can get is appreciated

Download that^ make sure you have .NET Framework 2.0 installed. and open FFTP then open a FFT PSX or PSP iso.

What do you mean?

Not sure what you mean by this either

4. What are the features of those packages/mods
If your talking about the mods on this site such as CCP, CoP, FFT+, PW etc.
they each have their own sections in the forum where you can find this info at.
In fact, I have links to both CoP and PW in my sig.

5. Why have I not found this sooner?

I think we have another Linuxfag on our hands.  I pity you if you are one, because FFTPatcher is Windows only, unless you can get it to run in Wine.

I run Linux too, so, if you do get it to work, tell us how.

Hmm... has anyone done much with Mono? I wonder if we could make use it to create a cross-platform version of the FFTP suite.

You could try.  It will probably make compiling the Windows version harder - though that shouldn't be a problem for someone who downloads the precompiled binary - but the real questions are:
1. Can it be done?
2. How much will have to be changed?
3. How easy and simple can you keep the required dependencies for Windows users, who have trouble downloading the .NET 2.0 framework?

I wonder if you can keep it the same as it is now for Windows users (.NET 2.0, and a few DLLs), and then have some other things for Linux users to do, like a list of things to sudo apt-get install and some compilation instructions, preferably for the ubuntu family tree.
