PSX FFT Hacking / Re: Steam Job Wheel Discussion
February 18, 2016, 11:48:01 am
I agree with most posts here!

Story based job-unlock would be epic and allow for a different FFT experience. Could also allow you to create hidden events/side-quests that allow certain characters to gain secret jobs.

I am a fan of using monsters. For Vanilla play it's fun to plug them in here and there. I have also been playing Emmy's Monster Quest game to much delight. However, the main downfall to using monsters in general is the absence of JP/job-changing. Making this possible by either exp level/jp level based class changing for all monsters would be absolutely epic! Perhaps you can give them all a skill set in which you use JP to purchase skills like with human characters? And perhaps even allow a secondary skillset? Basically, make monsters fully customizable from a skill standpoint (like humans in vanilla are). Not sure if this is feasible but the idea is exciting.

Great thread, keep it up!

Jumza -

This looks like a great project man! I have been visiting this feed since you first announced ASR and I must say I am impressed. The video above with the battle seems very very interesting! Once you drop an updated patch I would be happy to play through it and offer up my thoughts (no rush though).

Keep up the great work! The story and event editing are top-notch based off what I've seen so far.

Couldn't have said it better myself Guru! I completely share your enthusiasm for this project!

Thanks for your portion Nyzer.

It is very interesting to read about what's going on behind the scenes and when you put it that way, I can understand the time commitment and the careful planning that must go into this whole process. The ambition behind this project is remarkable in its own right and the 'perfection or bust' mentality is one to be adopted. I love the vision and the idea to massively improve the game itself - over all systems that can be altered.

As KingUrameshi said, this game is going to be awesome! I, as well as many others, will happily carve out countless hours to enjoy it! I am very much looking forward to this and figured to send you guys props (not that you need any more motivation). Keep up the great work guys and I'll keep waiting patiently :)

Thanks!!

Cool -- thanks guys!

I appreciate the update and understand that you don't want to spoil anything.

No reason to rush perfection :)

Wow Bonesy, now THAT is profound.

Thanks so much for your valuable input.

Greetings Folks!
I'm a huge fan of Jot5 and give very high props to the entire team for this masterpiece.

I, and I'm sure many others, are wondering if there's a projected re-release date for CH1 and then 2 of your highly touted, highly coveted patch.
I really want to get rolling on this game again but am reluctant to do so until the new one drops!

I know some RL shit was going on and I really hope everything turned out well.
Any update you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

thanks!

Journey of the Five Ch.1 / Re: Thoughts and Thanks

Hey guys (and gals) --

I would also like to extend my thanks and appreciation for this great project. Jot5 Is what brought me to FFHacktics and has lead me to many other great works by all the talented people on this website. However, nothing trumps the anticipation I have for the CH 1 Re-release + CH2 - but you already know this! Cloud, Link, Dante, Snake and a bearded Ramza, can't beat that line-up! (unless there's 10 red chocobos involved...)

I know it has been a long journey and is a lengthy undertaking but your entire team seems well assembled and motivated which keeps me coming back to the site daily for updates. I haven't seen a recent progress update in some time and I'm respectfully asking what the rough projected time-frame is for the re-release? I understand that you don't have a static date yet (as I'm sure there's still work to be done), but any update would be great!

Thanks to everyone involved, keep up the outstanding effort!

Hey Aiolon --
Any chance you could post which maps have Alucard's special gear?

Not looking for the specific X,Y location just which maps have the move-find rarity so I can spend them time looking for them.

let me know, that would be great! thanks,

Hey Kokojo --

Just wanted to say thanks for the great patch, I am really enjoying my playthrough so far. The events and story are great and I love the new battle system you have installed.

I must admit that I too have experienced the inventory bug. I stole a variety of items (in the jail break scenario where you get generic heroes to join, I believe in Chp 1) and was excited to equip them only to find them no longer in my inventory. I believe some other items were missing too.

This is the only major bug I found, the description/stat inconsistencies aren't crippling to the experience.

All in all, great challenging patch!! I am loving it.

thanks again Kokojo!

Thank you very much good sir! I'll be playing this tonight and will let you know my thoughts if you'd find them valuable.

Sounds good, thanks Conman!

Please keep us updated on this great patch.

Conman --

I began playing your patch a few days ago and let me say that it's a great patch! I love the character changes and minor job/ability tweaks you have come up with so far. Your patch is on my watch list and I will be playing all versions as they're released. Please stick with this project and post another Beta version if you can.

Also, not sure if others experienced this, but at the beginning of the game, after the Mandalia Plains fight - when you go to Igros and an event occurs with LaLa and the party at the front castle gates. Once the event and dialogue conclude, it started my game over again (from the Thieves Fort battle). It basically 'reset' my game and I was unable to do anything at or beyond Igros. I am using PSXfin 1.13. Could you maybe look into this and address with next update?

thanks man, keep up the great work!
34
You the man Kokojo! Can't wait to try this out!

Thanks again and Merry Christmas!

You are very welcome Kokojo.

I didn't mean to seem like I am rushing you or anything, please take your time. I just want you to know I am a fan of the work and effort you have put into this project. It looks great and I'll be playing this as soon as you release it  :D

Regarding Toshiko's comments --
I agree. Although I truly understand that life gets busy and you no longer have the time for things you once had time for, but even if it takes you ten years man, do it! I don't mod and know nothing about it really, other than it takes time, commitment, effort, time, time and... time, but you are creating something that will never perish or expire. It will be forever preserved. Which is all the more reason to execute your vision. If Chapter 4 ever drops, you got one guy here for sure that will binge play it until completion  :D

Thanks again Kokojo, it looks great and I am excited to play it!

I completely understand. Although I just registered to the site (for the purpose of communicating with you guys) I have frequented it being the fan of FFT I am. I have noticed Elric and have followed many of his posts. My sympathies go out to him and his family and obviously dealing with his personal issues are more important.

I really hope everything works out well for Elric.

You guys are putting together a masterpiece and you have the support of everyone.
Thanks for the updates!

I will absolutely enjoy starting the re-release over with the marks system, revised JP system and to see the tweaks you have made. This mod could very well go down as an instant classic in my book. The idea is already classic!

thanks again guys, you rock!

Right on!

Thanks for the update Guru. I am quite excited for the re-release (as well as CH 2) and am obviously holding onto every update I can get.
I wonder if they will make it possible to continue your save game from RR CH1 into CH2 and into the future 3 and 4?

That would give serious reason to invest some time in the file and not have to start from scratch again.

great game much love and support, keep rollin' guys!!

Hey Guys!!

Just writing to show some love. I registered an account on this site for the sole purpose of communicating & encouraging this project.

I picked up CH 1 about a year ago and it blew my mind. I also got my best friend into the game and it blew his mind too.
We have nostalgic memories of first picking up FFT when we were young, and being blown away by the depth. Made us SRPG/TRPG players for life.
It's great to see that the game is still very much alive and that highly talented programmers are modifying it into a new experience, that's truly epic.

I am in 100% full support of Jot5, I endorse it as one of the best game/mod ideas ever. The game is epic and I speak for everyone when I express my excitement.
Just wondering what kind of time line for the CH 2 release we're looking at.

No need to apologize as you guys are doing a service and life is busy and we all respect you for it.

Also, how many chapters do you think you will have in all?

Much love and keep up the great work!! I am among many that are holding onto each new post/update.
