Hmm...Maybe you could try Female Chemist? Her skirt can become the guidance for fat. That's what I use for my Steiner.

Hmmm, this might work, I will try.

EDIT: It didn't worked... I just made his head smaller and changed the arm, still I like the previous arm more.

His hat looks like a fisherman's hat--the rest of the body looks better. Would it be possible to change the gray on his head (as in, not his hat) to the darker grays? Right now it's just too much...

I will try, but what do you mean by saying "Fisherman's hat"? It's pure, original RM hat.

I dunno...I guess the color of it, combined with its placement on the head has led to me likening it to a fisherman's hat. Kinda like the second image from the top right on this page. Maybe the Red Mage hat just ain't working on him...

Yes, mav is correct. His head should be darker gray instead of same gray/silver with his hat. Here, I post my Steiner again. Use it as a reference.

Steiner WIP

Also, Kage, if possible, try expose his leg abit, something like Male Thief. Which sprite's boot did you use, Kage?

And use Male Thief's shoe, Male or Female Geomancer's shoe. Looks more alike to the reference ^^

Damn, I'm tired now. I changed his boots to MGeo(believe or not, but Thief's legs just don't work with this sprite), and I also messed with colors, I added 2 grays (had to work hard to make space for those 2 colors -_-). IMO it's looking better. Oh, and fifth frame added(wich looks a bit strange to me).

Hmm....didn't work? Mine works perfectly. Hmm....
Fifth frame...I think the strangeness maybe because of the armor. It looks abit too round. Hmm....oh, also, for front diagonal view, I think his left arm should move a pixel up. To me, now he looks like slanting one side. And if possible, adjust the two diagonal views' legs to make him look bit fatter. I can see that front and rear, he is fat, Steiner-ish. As for his rear head, make it like hair because now, it looks like one blob of dark gray.
Sorry if my comments offended or anything.

on the back diagonal view, where the belt slings over his shoulder, atm it looks like it is bending back and going over his left, whereas it should be on his right, so bump that across a few pixels and it will look pretty good.

The complete back view, on his back the shading looks a bit off... maybe make it a bit darker to the bottom of the armour plate... because atm it looks like pillow shading. But you can fix that easy ;)

Maybe expose less leg on all frames?

Good luck Kage, This is looking really good by the way.

I think I will take a break for a while, I'm just too tired with him :/. Oh, Jimmy, what do you mean by saying "As for his rear head, make it like hair because now, it looks like one blob of dark gray. "? I kinda don't get it.

For now I will concentrate oz Zidane, and I will do heads myself, I cannot wait that long.

Well, it means that you give him hair, except colour in dark gray. Let say you use Beowulf's head, so just change his hair colour to gray and attach the hat on, instead of trying to make the steel chain head something, like the reference picture, which isn't easy.

Ah now I see, well it is hard to fix with three shades af dark grey, when I use slightly lighter grey it looks like plate. What you suggest?

Btw, what base you used, Jimmy?

Hmm...For front diagonal view, how many colour you used for that head/hair part? I can see roughly around three grays right?

Hmm...I think that three dark grays should be enough. Hair mostly use around three to four colours at most. So, the three dark grays are good enough. Now, which head you used? Follow the hair shading with the three dark grays.

Barinten was the base, I have been messing with it a lot, I will copy\paste his head and try again.

Again I ask, who was your base pal?

Oh, sorry. You asked me before? I didn't notice. My bad.
But I think I mentioned before right? I said used Female Chemist skirt as a guideline for the fat ^^

Ok, I added ponytail Cheetah suggested, and it looks great! I will concentrate on finishing this sprite since I really like it. And there are three new frames added.
