Hopeless noob hacker needs some help XD

I'm trying to use FFT patcher to create a new weapon, and I created a patch and a data base file for it, but beyond that I'm not sure what to do. I'm not sure were I place them (saved games file I'm guessing but nothing's working ). this is my first patch job so I thought I should ask from people who know better than I. XD

I managed to get Lioneditor working, but this is a little more complex than that.

I'm using the item 280 number, and I'm trying to make a moderately strong knight sword that can inflict Traitor
