Most people dont realize psp 3000 has triple the ram of phat and double that of slim/2000. my friends 3000 doesnt lag much AT ALL. but he doesnt have CFW yet, which is why alot of people havnt noticed the lag not being there.

Im not saying its REALLY the cause, as i have no idea. but its definatly a contributing factor.

Quote from: "Verdeni"Well you don't have to believe me. I'm starting to think you're right, because I watched the PSX videos, and the animations were way faster. Maybe I`ve just gotten used to the slower animations?

Drugs are bad children. lol

I got used to it when I was playing the PSP version and thought it wasn't that slow, but then after playing on the PSX version again there is an obvious speed difference.

Exactly.

I couldn't help but to notice that most effects are still going on after the sound effect was over.
That lag basically ruined the game for me.
Besides, with enough effort I'm sure we'll be able to add everything that WotL has the the PSX version and then some.

Quote from: "Seraphim Enchantress"Did you read it halfway and stop? He said it was just him becoming used to the lag.

i know but i still want someone to de-lag it

Would probably require a recode of the routine that displays these graphics.

It's not some errant byte slowing things down. Least I don't think it is :X

Yeah, though I did notice something.  Using Cwcheat to view framerates I noticed that it seems to be forced at 15 fps whenever a effect is used, some lag it more such as fire4.  But a exception I saw was Quaklein's Zodiac Transformation that went at 30.  It might be something that forces it to certain framerates whenever it goes though certain routines.
It'll be a good long time until someone flushes another guitar string.

yes

it was already discovered that the game is forced to run at 15 for most effects

Yes but if we know the skills that dont run at 30 we could theoredically figure out why one skill does is set to 15 and one is set to 30.  Oh yeah during a 1.3 playthough of Quakelan on psp it happened a couple times where a Ruin skill would miss, and the game would go at normal(60) framerate.  Sound was messed up.

ok, so this is something that I would personally love to see happen, so I thought I would chime in with some things that I noticed.

Ive been playing through 1.3 on the WotL version of the game. In my travels I have run into some non-frame-limited spell effects. Between these, the effects that are known to run at 30fps and some clever editing, perhaps it would be possible to speed up spell effects (to at least 30 across the board, if not proper speed for all).

I noticed when archers (or units with bows and bowguns) were using knight skills, I would sometimes get completely unrestricted spell effects. unrestricted meaning that they ran /faster/ than 30fps.

it seemed that the combination of the spell effect, the bow animation and the projectile animation caused the system to unload the hard framerate limit of 15 (or 30 in some cases?) fps. When the bow users would fire, the spell effect would begin and then play out very rapidly. generally the projectile animation would play during/afterward, and then the effects of the action would resolve.

i know this isnt all that much info, but if some dedicated individuals were willing to look into it, perhaps this could be a stepping stone?

im very interested in seeing this happen. if no one is able to do it, any pointers on accessing and editing the internals would be appreciated and i will dig into it myself for sure.

interesting

so... what ever happened with this? There has to be a way to de-lag wotl. What really has me thinking is why would the zodiac tranformation effects not slow down but in battle effects would. If someone would de-lag it would make this game sooo much better.

Mine doesnt move anywhere nearly as fast as the PSX version and it doesnt bother me at all. I dont think that the animations and sound dont synch up.

seriously, stop with the "my WOTL is this and that" claims

your WOTL is just as laggy / forced to run at crawl FPS because that's the way it's CODED, just like every other copy of WOTL out there

unless, somehow, you hacked it and fixed something in there, show us with a video

otherwise stop with the claims
