News:

Use of ePSXe before 2.0 is highly discouraged. Mednafen, RetroArch, and Duckstation are recommended for playing/testing, pSX is recommended for debugging.

Just as an aside, you should probably use Solid Explorer instead; ES is pretty shady now after being bought out.

That said, I don't really have any idea as to the cause. It's still the same OS running the same game with the same assets, so everything should be there. I guess try Solid Explorer and see if results are the same? At worst, you get a more reputable file manager for your efforts.

I'm pretty sure you've worked enough miracles to earn sainthood, Elric.

I don't know if a modded PS3 is required - mine is modded - but I only copied the card data directly to a USB key. The FTP route would require a modded PS3, though, among other things. If copying over USB doesn't work for you then yes, you'd need to jailbreak your PS3.

Edit: posted after Elric.

Correct. Of course, you need to be able to change the extension, so you need to have file extensions visible in Explorer, but that's all there is to it. Pretty well any memory card manager for PSX should be able to convert between .gme and .mcr, which leaves it as simple as changing the extension from .mcr to .psv.

Though .gme has a header, and the file needs to be headerless. PS3 uses raw, so it would need to be converted to .mcr first, then simply change the extension to .psv.

From what I remember, all I had to do was change the extension. Xifanie started playing Grandia on my PS3 and migrated her save to her laptop, and I'm pretty sure all I had to do was find the save folder, rename the file inside, and it loaded up fine in every emulator.

I love Tool, but understand why people hate them.

It's long been the official FFH stance that if we ever got a C&D from Square-Enix, we would laugh, frame it, stick it on the wall, and continue as normal. None of us make any money from any part of the site, we generate no ad revenue, and we will never host the game images themselves. There are some areas where we could better protect ourselves, and we've spent some amount of time in the background working toward that, though it's been minimal effort since we've never felt any pressure to start with.

I actually think the name may have been taken before, but the original user is gone. Like you, I can't imagine it not being registered yet! 8D

The expressions on the last panel are fantastic. I love it.

Funny thing is, that was my experience with either 1.8 or 1.9, I forget which. It also wiped all my memcard data.

I've yet to grab 2.0.2 since, well, I currently have nothing to play it on, but that should hopefully be fixed later today. Also, v2 only works on Windows Vista or better, so if you're still using XP, that could be the issue?

It would be nice if the wiki were actively maintained by more than one person. :/

Raijinili and Emmy have been a big help lately, but some info is very much known and not shared at all. Y'all need to take some time off and share your riches. I'd do it myself, but I'm always always always wrong when I do.

I'd feel guilty if I were paid for working on Journey of the Five.

My 2600 was made almost exactly a year before I was born. I can't tell what part of it isn't working, but I can't get a signal out of it anymore (I had taken it apart to inspect internal damage, which is where I got the build date from).

Still on track, we just made a lot of work for ourselves to further improve the final product. There's still work being done daily, though sometimes the work we do increases rather than decreases the total work load. But it's all for The Greater Good.

The one we haven't hosted, by request, for many years? The one we are not affiliated with any longer? That 1.3?

I prefer playing Monopoly against a computer, because a computer won't tableflip and explode (I am ruthless).

I've never played Risk myself, but I remember it from Thanksgiving with the family when I was a little girl, more interested in NES Ducktales than what the older kids were playing. Scrooge was fucking bouncing over danger on his cane, dude! TOTALLY more awesome than any board game.

First video game you ever played, go.

I need to move there, as well. Let's go house hunting!

I don't think I've ever played a remake that was better than the original.

Tales of Phantasia, Star Ocean, Dragon Quest I-III, Final Fantasy Origins/Dawn of Souls/PSP, Super Mario All-Stars*, Ocarina of Time 3D... There are honestly a lot of games with superior remakes. Outside of FFI&II (and varied opinions on which of the TO remakes is superior), Square is mostly responsible for the bad ones, though.

* Okay, granted, the block smash rebound removal in the first two games was egregious, but it had great QoL improvements on top of the updated graphics and sound.

You need to use the right version of Shishi and the file size needs to be identical, but otherwise, yeah. Replacing the battle sprite is done automatically with Shishi.

The black screen + crash thing is pretty much normal behavior for PPSSPP until a year-ish ago or so. Current nightly builds run WotL fine, however. It's generally a good idea to regularly update PPSSPP because they fix a dozen bugs a day.
