A couple of prototypes... I thought I might retry some kind of esper/banshee on a human sprite sheet.  Also I think the 10 year old boy sprite would be a great base for a gnome/dwarf.  My pictures seem fuzzy when I enlarge them :cry:.  I have just been doubling the frame size in graphics gale and it seems to make everything look distorted... is there a better way?

I may have made a poor choice on the bikini- but then big girls/Alma often make poor wardrobe choices as well....

As a troubled teen young Alma turned to food to satisfy an emotional hole. You should post a bigger image.  Also- I think balmafula wouldn't seem like a good sprite for a base.

Does it have to be a real weapon? It could be swirling energy and then a bolt of energy.  It might seeam real tough, but i'm sure it's doable.  I just checked shishi and i think thats possible!

Granted, I think "swirling energy" could only be about the size of the sword hilts

I've been thinking about coming up with some new creatures and had a few ideas.  I wanted a monster sized cyclops (inspired by a smash image), but I really wanted to make something like an Esper Terra as well.  I liked the idea of a generic esper/psychic beast to fill a role like the ultima demons.  Maybe this is not well thought out (and I have been drinking), but I think it would be awesome if I could make a monster and limit it to like 13/14 colors and use the rest for some kind of aura/energy field for attacks/magic/defence.

Long time, no post.  Been busy with other things- and honestly everytime I think about this project, I want to make something else.  Last time I tested this either the front or back walking was perfect and the other was a pixel off on a frame or two.

...I suck at portraits.  I've tried to make a few for sprites without them and they really weren't very good.

On the plus side my old lady saw me struggling and made one for me! Yay! Still might need some work however.

I'm not sure on what to do with the dead frames, I figured I had a good way to cheat with the shield/sword

Arghh... I need to do some shading/clean up and probably redo some frames here.  Some of this needs to be lined up better and my forward jump definitely needs fixed: the sword angle forces him off center.
Damn there is so much excitement starting one of these things and finishing it- not so much.  Halfway through this thing and I already wanted to make a different monster.

I'm curious how their skillsets are going to be worked out.  I only saw the first season, but every episode's battle would be a three part sequence.
part1- melee -easy to do
part2- super weapons - maybe swordskill like attacks
-Bad guy become a giant
Part3- Megazord battle! (the best part!) ....???.... You could have custom summons representing their "Zords"

Wow...I didn't realize back frames for the shields were on the wep.spr.   :oops:
This sprite is as amateur as probably possible.  I am not an artist.

I've been lurking for a while and taking stuff from this site to make my own personal patch and thought damn that ain't right!  Knowing my limitations, I figured I could make a working monster despite my artistic ability. I think I can make this work but I'll need some pointers.

Walking poses need a tweek...need a portrait.... I don't have a "sword tail" on the back attacking poses... but it's close...kinda.
I'm all about cutting the work down to a minimum and wanted a monster w/out a mountain of work, so I just really resized the sentinel sprite by 20% and stole stuff from the WEP.spr

I figure way more monsters (of the Lucavi kind) could be made by resizing/recoloring human sprites and slapping new heads on them.  I wanted to use the snake head from Serpentarius... but it wasn't looking very good.
