Zodiark would be hardcore awesome as a boss.
We will build cities in a day, we will build towers to the heavens. We will be heroes.
This sleeping city doesn't know what's coming. She doesn't feel the heat.
Even when the darkness surrounds us, we shall light up the night.

Oh, for the bahamut, now that ehrgeiz mentioned about flying, is it possible to make it fly?
Like black chocobo...
If its possible, it would be awesome, but of course, not using current dragon.
Use Smash, going to remake dragon ^^

Hydras might be the way to go for a Bahamut foundation.  The trick would be to not make him look as scrunched as they do.

Quotefight summon and learn the skill..? wow
I'm not sure what they're plans are, but you can do this by placing them in side quests, giving the appropriate Katana as a reward, and turning the Draw Out skills into summon spells with 0% chance of breaking the item.  You'd be stuck with only ten, but that's enough for one of each element, a non-element, and a healing.  I've been considering doing exactly that at some point and making it so that the player has a hard time choosing whether to equip and use the weapons or to be able to use the summon spell.

I like the latest sprite, Asmo.  Sleeves could be fixed a bit as others have said, but it has an overall good look to it.

Hmm, my plan for this was actually a bit different. Granted a bit more complex, almost no way this would work or fit into a vanilla game...

Using our knowledge of battle events turning a few of them into "when X dies then Y happens" In this case when... Shiva is defeated for instance, she gives a line, then fades away, leaving behind a crystal with only Shiva in it, this is accomplished quite easily. When the event occurs you switch out the real Shiva for a fake Shiva, that only had the skill Shiva learned in her skillset. To assure the battle doesn't end. You set a certain unit which can't attack, always has Death Sentence, but immune to dead, with a unique skill that transforms a "seal" into a Crystal. Now the Seal wouldn't have anything in it, since it's not really much of a unit. If you choose to destroy the seal before receiving the summon, then that's not the maker's fault on that regard.

Ah.  That's an intriguing approach.  I still favor mine because the player has to choose which they'd rather be able to use, but yours certainly has a lot of merit.  Hrm... additionally you could fit all summons (except Midgarsormr, if you count that) into yours while my method would only fit ten.  I can only think of one drawback to yours.  Unless they are blue magic of some sort, you'd be limited to just a few summoners or even using it only as a special job.  But... I would lean towards the traditional special character summoner rather than a generic anyways.

I was thinking of a whole different sprite with arch-seraph/altima proportions.

That's a great idea, Smash1 That would probably be the best way to go for any large creature. ^_^

No, hehe. Far from it, it would need to be an actual event put in, which in itself isn't too difficult, though it would probably replace the cutscenes. The item idea is probably better, if you use the "Spell Cards" similar to FF4's rare summons. The idea I have is more similar to FF5.

That doesn't look bad, good job taking out the wings as well, it's rare to see anyone modify Altima, hehe.

Actually, that's pretty close. She just needs to have her arms open. You know like she was about to hug a small child?

I love that look for the Summons. To me they need to be epic to really fit in. The small/normal size Shiva sprite just looked silly to me, I think they work way better as big mythical beasts! But, obviously much harder to actually use that way...
