Its a rather low priority thing, but its something cosmetic I'd like to include.
However, since my art skills (computer or otherwise) are pretty craptastic, I'm tempted to simply convert a fan art picture into a 320x240 image, spruce it up slightly, and slap it in. Here are some of the ones I've attempted though far (quite rough, I know). These images were easier because they were 300x300 by default
Other candidates include:

(ps, can you tell I think chocobos are AWESOME?)
Anyone have an opinion on the matter? These are awesome? They suck? They suck, but, philsov, here's something awesome?
I think the current title image is fine, especially since as much I like cartoons, I realize that a lot of people can be graphic whores and be turned off by certain art styles.
You might as well just keep it as is for now.
Unless you are like me (the minority) in assuming that Ramza died and Olan just saw an illusion and are willing to write that into the script more explicitly, I wouldn't pick the first one.
I would not pick the fourth one unless you wish to have a storyline that someone emphasizes Ramza's relationship to a certain generic female squire (which is what that image looks like).
Otherwise, the rest look good but aren't really inspiring.
I'm not feeling any of these, myself.
I can toss you something together in Photoshop if you like, my skills are... moderate, and I'm enough of a perfectionist that it'll at least look fairly decent.
Let me poke around for some images and stuff and see what I can find on that front, at least.

We're in the minority?
Shit. I'm the minority in everything....

THIS
The Damned:
Surprisingly yes, though I think much of it is that most FFT fans want to believe Ramza survived and Delita didn't, even the "written history" of Ivalice after the Lion War actually goes in the other direction. Of course, Square's official pronouncements on this haven't exactly helped us here. But that's tangential.
What I'd rather see is something like the original screen, or just a happy chocobo staring at the viewer with FFT ASM'd written in the original font.

The more I look at this one, the more I think something can be done with it.
Brb, Photoshop.
Well I can offer a picture that is, well it looks fantastic but it does lack a Chocobo (though it does have Worker
.
Here you go.

ah... that is one that I overlooked.
hm. If I include the whole picture it becomes too poor quality if I cram it into a 320x240, but if I crop it prior and focus on the center...
Only flub is the Leo thing... gem is probably too stuck in there but I might be able to rub out the white text at least. Use the top portion to include "Final Fantasy Tactics" and this really has some potential!

And then heres the dedicate picture...

Eh, too somber. Sorry doku :p
You could always have the FFT logo appear right over the Leo and block it out, no?
I can help.
I like the one with female squire actually, you could use Female Warrior sprite from main to make her unique and do some love story
My god does Elmdore look like Sephiroth in that picture.
I added the FFT title and removed 'Leo'.

Epic, I love it. Good job on this.
initially I was a bit sad to see all the other characters faded away but looking at it more and more its a very nice touch.
Excellent!
Can you post up the base file, mike?
I can still change it if you like.
Here:
Mike: 1
philsov: 0
Whaaat!?
Update: 'More characters' screen:
I like both versions, it is up to philsov.
2nd version for the win.
Definitely the second version. Good work!
Go with the second version
I prefer the first one; less crowded.
First one IMO. Awesome and simple.
Second is better. More things are "going on" and that makes ir clearly awesome.

This. Simpler is better, I think, in this instance.
I personally like the second one, seems a little crisper to me for some reason. (Though that's likely because it's not in-game yet).
Ooh tough call, but I'd probably go with the first one for simplicity's sake.
Also, would it be possible to decrease the tracking between the letters for ASM'd? Right now it's a bit much...
I'd like the first, simpler version better, especially if you were to further obscure the faces of Dyce and Zalbag, putting the focus entirely on Ramza and Delita.
They're the important characters, anyway.
I like both but I would go for first one because it looks more epic as it focuses on Dycedarg vs Zalbag, Delita vs Ramza.
Great job, Mike. Great job.

Except neither of those are the real plot of the story. I'd rather see all of the characters or Ramza v. Vormav or Ramza v. Ajora.
Ramza vs Delita is a main focus of the story. The two are linked in many ways. The way they go about things are complete opposites of one another. Though I do have to agree that Dycedarg vs. Zalbag is not that much of a focal point.
I like the squire on chocobo. Best art IMO... That backround looks lame though. If it were just tan it'd be better.
Ramza v. Delita is a point of contrast; the two never actively opposed each other, nor do I think Ramza or Delita would have attempted an armed confrontation, assuming both survived the Lion War.
The plot was much more involved in Ramza v. Vormav or Ajora

They're not actively opposing each other in that image. They're in mirrored stances, with swords crossed more like disheartened allies than enemies.
If anything, the image is displaying contrast due to their facial expressions - Delita has the confident look on his face that he exhumes most of the game, the pauper gone king, climbing impossible ranks and achieving impossible dreams, whereas Ramza has his eyes turned down, fighting battles he doesn't want part in and killing those he doesn't want to end the lives of for far simpler goals than Delita and guided by his fairly naive conscience, though their ends are ultimately the same on a basic level.
The "plot" is involved in Ramza v. Vormav then Ajora because those are the means he needs to achieve his ends, both in saving Alma and trying to help Ivalice.
TL;DR use the focused one. I love the one with all the characters as well but unless something's done story-wise, the focused one seems far more relevant to the actual game.
Well, though Dycedarg and Zalbag isn't much of a focal point, still, it looks epic seeing them as such.
