If you know where any red mage or blue mage FFT sprites are, I could use some. I believe I can input the sprite if you have one in the correct format. Only way I know how to make a blue mage sprite is pixel by pixel. Don't forget that there is a different image for each action, so that's a great deal of pixel changing for me.

Format looks like this: http://www.bghq.com/fft/Black%20Mage_M.PNG

except that I think I need just one palette color to make it.
I changed jobs and that has made all the difference.

The Only Sad thing about this is the fact that we will not see the sprite on the formation :(

Do you need male and female for both?

well, zodiac already has a mostly done Blue Mage, so I need a female blue mage. And since Rad is going to be the Red Mage, I need a male Red Mage. If it's too much work, don't bother. I have learned quite a bit about sprite colors today, so it's not as hard as I thought, but it's still pretty tough.

Argg0: srry, I dunno how it all fits

the formation "sprites" are in a different folder... i wonder if anyone knows how to get them open?

Their location is unknown and the format is not the same as in the .spr files which makes things rather complicated. I have no idea how to look for them.

Love what you're seeing? https://supportus.ffhacktics.com/ 💜 it's really appreciated

Anything is possible as long as it is within the hardware's limits. (ie. disc space, RAM, Video RAM, processor, etc.)
<R999> My target market is not FFT mod players
<Raijinili> remember that? it was awful

This is my Red Mage WIP.  It is nothing but a Summoner with some simple color changes.

This is a work in progress but I don't know if I want to draw the traditional hat and feather pixel by pixel.  Gotta have the white hair.  Feedback greatly appreciated.

This is the link for the sprite file.

make the horn a hat and you're almost there.

That's pretty good. I hope you used the palette to change the color, because it's a lot of work to do it by hand. This picture is a start, but I can get the hat myself. I've already made most of the hat, actually. Just need the feather. Anyway, I've done a bit of work with the robe so the Red Mage is no longer needed. I can finish the rest. I was going to use the Knight's cape, but the Summoner's cape actually looks better. I'm not so sure that the white hair is going to show much underneath the hat, but we'll see.

Anyway, thanks for all the help! If I can, I'll let a little bit of white hair show.
I changed jobs and that has made all the difference.

Hey because of the positive feedback, figured I'd try another pixel fixel.

http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee77 ... aleWIP.png

This is my Blue mage male WIP based off Beowulf.  Since he only has his one  shade, figured a blue version would standout easily on it's own.  Havent decided whether I should color the cape, add a pixel blue mask or hat or leave well enough alone.  Hope U like it.

One thing still bothers me.  When using FFTSprite, the portrait always comes out discolored.  Is that correctable or is that just something that we just have to live with?

Once you've imported the picture back into FFT Sprite and save it, it turns back into the color it is supposed to be. Or, at least, it does on my computer.

Hmmm... looks like... Beowulf. But anyway, I have Zodiac's Blue Mage sprite which is mostly done, so I wouldn't worry about making Blue Mage

Oh, and tell me which one of these pics is better...

Of course, it's not done yet, but which cape looks better?
I changed jobs and that has made all the difference.

Hard call on the capes. Both seem to "fit."  I kinda like the knight cape myself.

One of the things I was afraid of was editing more than pixel color because I don't know how the game responds to reimported spr files.  Do they go back in seamlessly or is it hit and miss?
