Okay, so I need to use ePSXe to use the pec emulation codes, but I'm not used to this thing at all. Thankfully I've got nearly everything running like I want it to.
But I can't get it to run faster than 60fps. Quite frankly that's not anything too terribly bad, but I like to be able to speed through stuff.
Also, is there a particular sound plugin that's good for FFT? The music sounds a little off on the one it comes with, so I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for this.
Thanks guys.
Edit: Oh, and I tried toggling frame skipping/ no auto-detect frame rate but I think there's at least one other thing I need to toggle other than framerate at the video plugin.
Sound plugin - I use No Sound 0.4
Plugin - Most people recommend PEOP's Soft Driver 1.18
Have you tried hitting F4 (I think?) or removing the frame limiter?
Also, have these settings. Config Plugin --> Check Use FPS limit, check Use frame skip, and set the number to something like 120 fps.
If it is still running slow, try running at a smaller resolution.
EDIT - No sound plugin

Delete is the options menu while in-game, just press home as soon as it comes up(first option). Should remove the limit, I usually get up to 200-300 fps in battle if I do this from my set cap of 60.(BTW, the intro screens/movie won't speed up, only once you get to the load screen, in-game, and battles.)
epsxe 1.7
psx emulation cheater 2.5
P.E.Op.S. Soft Driver 1.17
you on EPSXEZEEE 1.70?
1.70 has major issues running some games at over 60 FPS
regardless of visual emulator
I'm on 1.7
I didn't know about the issues about running games at high FPS. Should I roll back to 1.6 or 1.5?
if you're having issues, yes.
Otherwise, it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Similarly, I'm still rocking 1.5.2 from when I first got espxe in like... 2003.
F4 and Delete were the commands I needed.
Thanks guys.
btw im having a hard time finding a good sound plugin, it annoys the crap out of me when things dont sound as they should, any suggestions?
Eternal SPU is what I would use. It is almost perfect in terms of sound emulation for all games.
I use 1.6, especially after 1.7 messed up IX and such..
I have a hard time getting over 60 sometimes, mainly when I'm multitasking, but my max is always around 70, kinda pathetic..
Edit : Finally realized the filter is screwing with my sig >.>
