Title: Changing animations
Post by: Zephon on January 10, 2009, 01:25:11 am
sorry if this is a noob question but how do I change an animation for a skill/magic? Is it possible to do that using the FFTPatcher?

Select the Abilities tab located in the top portion of the window, scroll to the ability that is to be edited, under the box labeled "AI Behavior" is a tab that contains the abilities effect. There is no way to edit the pre-ability animation (IE spell charging animation/katana use animation/ etc)

I'll do you one better. You can edit the effect files directly too. And you can change the caster animations too.

I forgot to include that hex editing can also change the casting animations too lol (although I am clueless as to how to go about editing the casting animations myself)

There's a sticky about the skill animations in this forum. And I submitted a tutorial about effect file editing to Zodiac, which he should be adding to the main site at some point or you can read it now in the submissions forum. ^_^

Vanya you are awesomeness. Your submissions post is just about the most win of all posts I've come across lately : ). I've been wanting to recreate new effects ever since I started working with the patcher. Thank you for directing me to that ^^.
