A long while ago I had pulled apart alot of the sprite info, but not all of it, especially for characters. Anyone know anything about sprites?

We know a fair bit, but we're currently having trouble switching sprite types, aside from that we know pretty much everything, though how they link to the jobs are still unknown to us.

There is a definite link between generic jobs and the sprite they force a Generic Male or Female to use. (Out of the Generic Male / Female Sprite Set)

Melonhead figured out where the Monster Graphic ID is for every job, but there has to be a similar value for Generic Jobs

credit goes to Argg0 for coming to this conclusion

The LINK between jobs and sprites is a big one we haven't figured out yet IMO.

What makes Elmdor's sprite set possess a job wheel with Arc Knight instead of Squire?

More looking into the Sprite Sets is needed.

yeah that is a big deal, also (but maybe the same thing) which battle sprite links to which unit.bin sprite/portrait and color palette

example
assassin Lede, linked to her own portrait in wldface.bin
but the value her unit.bin sprite is probably linked to is probably 00 (ramza chapter 1) and there must also be a value for the color palette thats assigned to the unit.bin sprite/portrait too because she uses ramza chapter 1(in the menu) with a different palette.

in theory you could assign her to the dancer sprite in unit.bin and then assign a color pallette added at the end of the unit file to match hers...
well thats my guess anyway.

Where be all this info? O_O My whole goal in hacking FFTactics to begin with was to finish a cloning engine.
