seeing as no one else seems to be stepping up, i figured I start up the discussion myself.

Tonberries
The signature point of the tonberry, to me at least, is how they take several turns to reach you, but when they do, they immediatly start wrecking havoc with painfull attacks like Everyone's Grudge and Knife, and how thier immunity to instant death and gravity attacks forces you to manually cut through thier enormous HP.

So, my innitial idea, stat wise, would put them at somewhere like so

HP: Amazing
MP: Poor
PA: Great
MA: Great
SP: Amazing

Move: 2
Jump: 4
Evasion: 0%

Element: Immune Dark

Innate: Defense UP, Magic defense UP, Damage Split, Meatbone Slash
"Dave?  Are you there?"
"Yeah.  I can't get you through the cell now."
"You have to talk through the bratwurst from now on. I'm sorry. I didn't know it would do that."

Tonberry skills
Everyone's Grudge: this, I feel, should become like Lifebreak with an area of 1 (vert 2). As a ranged attack, it should see more use then Knife, though Knife's utterly BS damage should cause the AI to prioitize that move when possible. Also, unlike Knife, this attack is evadable. CT adjusted to accomodate the Tonberry not having innate Short Charge.

Knife: 100% accuate 100% hp damage, non-elemental, not reversed against undead, range 1, vertical 3.

Gravi 2

Return 2
"Dave?  Are you there?"
"Yeah.  I can't get you through the cell now."
"You have to talk through the bratwurst from now on. I'm sorry. I didn't know it would do that."

Monsters can be recruited?

Ah ok then ^_^
Give Them at level 100:
999 hp
1 mp
3 move
3 jump
a good speed

Knife: like a normal attack, does 999 DMG, 100% accurate
Everyone grudge: Random damage (from 1 to 999) range of 4, vertical 3, count like a magic attack to evade it, not counterable xD
and some magic like demi 2 or shit like that (at 0 mp cost)

They are fucking bastards xD

are counter flood and geomancy unused(sorry haven't been keeping up with with SoR), if so you could make a large aoe everyones grudge counter(ala FFVIII), I would suggest dmg_castermaxhp-castercurrenthp for it, if they are being used I vote Domes idea

Geomancy and counter flood are made into the counter ability "Counter Status" so unfortunatly, that idea is out of the question D:

good idea though, i forgot about that one till you mentioned it.

You can break 999 HP, correct? As seen with the Zodiac monsters having 56,000 HP in someone's patch. So I'd assume crazy HP for a tonberry might be in the low thousands (2500 maybe?) so ??? to display HP.
Lil' gay soul manipulator lolpatcher.

actually, im trying my absolute hardest to break the max HP cap. bring it up to 9999, instead of 999, so there wont be need for the ??? stats if you have specific bosses...but making bosses out of normal units will use the ??? system...

If i every get any progress on that...

Anyways, i agree, they should have a high hp, but tonberries are common enemies in several maps, and i only have 2 boss tonberry maps planned.
