FFT was designed & programmed by the same team, more or less, that worked on Tactics Ogre.

Similar game different story. You know how Vagrant Story takes place in the country of Valendia? Valendia is actually also the setting for some of the Ogre Battle & Tactics Ogre stories.

FFT is kind of a Final Fantasy sequal to Tactics Ogre. It was originally released on the SNES in Japan and was remade for the PSX (no real differences) and released in the US. Every FFT fan should play Tactics Ogre, though it isn't nearly as good as FFT.

one thing i like about it is the simplicity with the skills...

one character can only have 3 or 4 at a time and they are equip. and special jobs cant change class (not that they would gain skills, changing class only affects permanent stats gains per level)

White Knights here didnt have any skills either, but they were very strong

it was also pretty neat that in the psx version it had a counter on each character showing how many kills they had made.

the gba "prequil" was much better, in comparison to FFTA but not near as good as the original TO
-----------------------------------

Btw the sprite looks good other than the arms for guildus, but that little picture is ALL i was able to find of him anyway...

I've played both Ogre Battle and Tactics Ogre: The Knight of Lodis, and on the whole, I liked Ogre Battle better, the animated battle sprites are right up there with Bahamut Lagoon in terms of impressiveness, and the gameplay is awesome. I'm currently doing an Tottally Evil playthrough, where I limit myself to only those units that are completely dispicable, Evil Ones, Liches, Undead, Witches, Tiamats, Zombie Dragons, Fire Giants, Ravenmen, Devils, Werewolves and Vampires. Speaking of werewolves, it would be awesome if one of our spriters did a remake of the goblins that changed them into werewolves. I imagine that a FFT werewolf would look similar to one of the werewolves from Secret of Mana. hmm...Mana Tactics...*goes off to ponder ideas*
"Dave?  Are you there?"
"Yeah.  I can't get you through the cell now."
"You have to talk through the bratwurst from now on. I'm sorry. I didn't know it would do that."

Here is a great Sephiroth sprite that seems to be missing anywhere else on the forums. I didn't do this and who ever did needs to take credit. I will be doing a portrait in the near future and submitting it.

Here's a minor sprite edit I did on the female knight. Basically, I was trying to to make it look more like the official artwork. Plus, it's one of my favorite sprites.

By the way, here is a Vincent Valentine sprite I got from Setzer. Feel free to edit it and make it better.

Umm... don't take this the wrong way but, what exactly is different? I just don't see it

actually xeno, it matches the character art more closely because of the added white stripe across the skirt

honestly, I don't think so.

Black armor with golden edges? :/

And in walking animations the feet looks like blocks of ciment.

Love what you're seeing? https://supportus.ffhacktics.com/ 💜 it's really appreciated

Anything is possible as long as it is within the hardware's limits. (ie. disc space, RAM, Video RAM, processor, etc.)

WOW the colors really need to be redefined, but I like the shoulder parts, the spiky points make the armor look kind of "Evil"

eh :( second opinion says fuck it but maybe if a new head and color scheme was thought up you could salvage the rest of the sprite with some changes
