Loser's Bracket semi-final!

Match 61 LOSER'S BRACKET

Was fun to be back - thanks for inviting me!
2
This tournament is such a validation of the double-elimination format. Consider...

Throwaway, Odal, and OhGodBears have been in the loser's bracket since round 2, formerdeathcorps since round 1! Since dropping a match they've combined for 20 wins. And who did they lose to? Squidgy (out on rematch), Gaignun (winner's bracket champ), Otabo (out in R3 loser's bracket...to Odal), and pokeytax (out loser's bracket R4), respectively. Three teams that have since fallen away and one who could easily win it all. Love the double-elimination format! XD

I know I'm jumping the gun a bit, but it's my last match until the LB semi-final and it's too good not to put up immediately.

Loser's Bracket #56

Most fun I've had calling a match yet.
4
Hooray, my turn again!!

Match 46 LOSER'S BRACKET
Match 47 LOSER'S BRACKET
Match 48 LOSER'S BRACKET

And kicking off the next round...

Match 49 LOSER'S BRACKET

The matches are only getting better - can't wait to call the loser's bracket finals!
6
As soon as fdc posts his round two stuff my round three matches are going up, &etc.
7
Rest of my round two matches!

Match 28 LOSER'S BRACKET

Match 27 LOSER'S BRACKET

Done for the night, but tomorrow I'm knocking out the entirety of my round three and four matches so we won't have any more delays from me
8
More matches! Two more to go up tomorrow for this round, then Sunday I'll plow through round 3 and hold those until it's my turn again, so we won't have to suffer through another long delay.

Match 30 LOSER'S BRACKET

Match 29 LOSER'S BRACKET

Loser's Bracket Round 2! Gaignun and fdc, feel free to post what you have b/c I won't be able to post more until Friday.

Match 32 LOSER'S BRACKET

Match 31 LOSER'S BRACKET

PS Technically these are matches 32 and 31 according to the rubric on the front page, so I've labeled them as such.

PPS Sound is still quiet on 32, but I fix that for good on 31. Finally comfortable again on the mic. Hope you like them.

QuoteWhoops, my bad. I think I forgot because I think I've literally only seen him on the forums once or twice.

Regardless, thank you as well, Piercewise.

You are welcome! And no offense taken, I'm not around here much.

QuoteMine for the next round is mostly ready, but I'm not going to upload mine until Piercewise does his, or by Thursday (if he doesn't show up), whichever happens first.

Yeah, I should probably never be allowed near a tourney again O_o  I was unprepared for the crazy awesome pace you all set, plus I was on vacation for five days. I'm really sorry everyone. (this is especially ironic for anyone who remembers that I got involved in the S2 tourney replacing the designated host.)

But enough! I am dead set on getting a couple matches done tonight, and blazing a trail through rounds 2 AND 3 (at least) this weekend. If the powers that be are okay with it, I'm fine with you two posting what you have so far - the viewers deserve matches, damnit!

Battle 4 LOSER'S BRACKET

Battle 5 LOSER'S BRACKET

Battle 6 LOSER'S BRACKET

Now I can go on vacation...see you Monday!

PS: First comment = "too quiet". Noted.

Loser's Bracket action has started!

Battle 1 LOSER'S BRACKET dinosaur vs Fanatic

Battle 2 LOSER'S BRACKET Celdia vs RedWorld

Battle 3 LOSER'S BRACKET UniqueTown Portal vs skiploom188

I apologize for the few amateur mistakes I make in these (visible mouse pointer, long pauses, etc) - I'm a little out of practice, but getting better. Hope you enjoy the matches nonetheless!

Quotegotta compliment Barren and wiz on gettin the matches up fast. really moving along well this season!

Agreed! You guys are amazing.

QuoteIf we don't have the loser's bracket ready, then Wiz its your turn to take command!

Ready to go! I've got three matches done, running another tonight and two more tomorrow. Should I split them up (today/tomorrow) or wait until I'm done and dump them all at once? I'm going on a short vacation Wednesday so everything will definitely get posted by Tuesday night.

What I had in mind was R1 (winners), then R1 (losers), R2 (winners), R2 (losers), and so on.

What I don't want to see is while R1 (winners) is half done, R1 (losers) is also being put up, because that could be confusing.

But at some point the loser's bracket has consecutive rounds, right? That's a long break for Barren/Wiz...

QuoteOne thing i would like to point out to the commentators is before you start recording, make sure that when you go to the formation screen that the unit has the ability that was flagged for them...we've come across some minor errors already.

So piercewise, fdc, gaignun and Wiz make sure that every unit has their abilities show up in the skill tree as "learned" before you start recording...my oracle NOT using raise 2 even though she mad MP is a perfect example of it so watch out

Will do.

Hey guys,

Sorry I'm behind on starting the loser's bracket - I had some tech problems which have been fixed and then today there were TORNADOES! But I'll have results up starting Thursday or Friday.

After discovering it in...05 I think, I read 8-bit theatre religiously through to the end. The drawn-outedness only gets worse, though it should be easier to slog through the last 200+ strips since you can archive binge instead of waiting for two years of updates. But yeah, it really crawls to the finish. Having said that, the comic contains the best Brick Joke in the history of anything.

On-topic: my avatar should answer the question, methinks.

I love TVTropes. Be careful, lest you suddenly lose 4 hours of your day.

QuoteThat and I'm from New England. Apparently it was 33 degrees outside today and I thought it was like, 50-55. So the cold isn't as big a deal to me as heat is. :/

My first winter here in Boston, we had a weekend in January that netted us 28 inches of snow. Granted that's an anomaly, but still...I loved it! And after five years, my cold tolerance is insanely high.

In general I love winter, especially the snow. Coming inside from the cold to warm up with soup, hot chocolate, and lovin' is vastly superior to coming home sticky from sweat and sitting motionless on the couch in an attempt to cool off. The biggest downside is shortened days - tonight's sunset in Boston is 4:33 PM. But waking up to a fresh coat of snow, or sitting inside watching a snowstorm, is just too much fun.

Then again, I don't drive.

Quote"Piercewise Butchers the Classics" sounds like a good Idea to me.

Yeah, I'm thinking this is the way to go.

Quotehly shit yes

do IWBTG

Dear sweet Jesus no. Remember how I never finished 1.3026? I at least want to have a chance at succeeding here.

QuoteHow about a hacking/programming/otherwise game making project of your own, rather than playing other people's?

I am slowly grinding away at my RPG Maker VX project, Shadow Nation. Updates are slow but informative, and you can catch them over at the Clave.

QuoteHm... I'm not sure it would be as funny to see you play a harder LoZ:OoT before playing the original, depending on how much the mod shakes things up at least.

Agreed. Plus, the whole point is to play something a LOT of people know very well, adding to the hilarity. So just straight-up general releases for now.

I've gotten Ocarina of Time to emulate beautifully, but I'm having trouble capturing the video in good quality. Hopefully I can figure something out this week, at which point I will begin the first ever Let's Butcher: Ocarina of Time.

Stay tuned!
