I don't claim to be a great pixel artist, and I never will, but I did take a crack at it. It's nothing dazzling, basically some palette edits and some "frankenspriting." (Thanks to Zozma for providing both the body and hair!)

What I'm looking for is someone (who has a better eye than I do for these kinds of things) to maybe just take a look at it and make a few fixes to the sprite. I'm not asking anyone to make a brand new sprite or anything, I did most of the work already (though if you really feel like it, I'd prefer if her outfit were sleeveless, but it's not necessary). I really just need someone to maybe do a few touch-ups, particularly on the arms/hands. I'd much appreciate any help you can give me. You can ignore the mugshot, that's a project I'm working on myself currently and I should finish it sometime soon.

Anyway, anybody is free to use this sprite for whatever as well, and when (and if) someone fixes it up and I finish the portrait, I'll post it up in the submissions (and I'll be sure to give credit to anybody that helps). Thanks in advance; I know you're all very busy people.

EDIT: I've finished the sprite, the completed version is on page three. Please leave any comments or criticism, and I'll do my best to fix them before I submit it.

Yeah, it is a lot faster when you post .bmp

Certainly. Here you go.

Also, I should note that the sprite itself only uses 15 colors; the last color on the palette isn't used anywhere on the sprite. If you'd like to add a new color in somewhere, please feel free to do so.

Once again, thank you.

You should take the south-east facing frame, and increase it's size by 200-400% so that we can see it in more detail to be able to make a better crit.

I'm not looking for critique, I already know I'm not good. I don't need a bunch of people to tell me that. :P

What I need is just for someone to touch the sprite up a little.

Touch up in what way? I can't see anything wrong with it to be honest.

Occasionally the head and arms disconnect from the body--this can be seen and tested in Shishi. I'd fix it myself, but I haven't the time, the patience, nor the ability to do so. In all honesty the sprite itself looks pretty good--I don't see any problems with her hands or arms or anything like that; it's the placement of the sprite on the sheet that may be causing problems...though I'm not 100% sure.

By the way, her current portrait is actually very cute.

Ah yes, I should've mentioned that! She is a type 2 sprite, as Zozma pointed out. Thanks for the reminder.

Maybe I'm just being a perfectionist, but it looks a little like the hands are off in some areas, I think there are blacks where there should be more fleshy tones (maybe a darker brown). I could just be too critical of my own work too, and that's also partially why I wanted someone with more experience to take a look at it.

Thank you!

I thought I did Type 2, but apparently I did Type 1. You have a good eye, man.

I actually like that sprite a lot. I might want to use it for new sprites for Celia and Ledde.

I can't really say anything about the technical aspect of how the sprite works in the game because it's not really my area and I can't say much about the actual design of the sprite itself because I'd need to see some frames blown up to 200% or 400% to see it properly

Yeah, all you need to do is to test the sprite further.

This Rena is your personal project or hero from some game? There was Rena from Star Ocean 2, but I think that she isn't that Rena.

looking at what parts it is made out of, asmo, id say it functions perfectly unless some arms were shifted or something. its a combo of miluda's head with some editing, and jenna's body. it shouldn't have any bugs at least thats what i get just by looking at it from here. nice and gothic :P

but i did this for ya a 200%

Give her a wizard's hat then she'd be a witch. :P
haha..

Is this still has 100% quality after zooming?

Anyway, the sprite looks fine. Hmm.. I think I might test it.
