Hey Smash, sorry cause i'm really noob at these palletes stuff...
Erm....How do you change a sprite's palletes like what you did with archer for your sain sprite??

Here are some images for examples...

The 1st image is original knight sprite and palletes

2nd image is the example of palletes that i wanted to change in the original knight sprites

3rd image is the result shown on shishi sprite editor....for not being in 1st 16-bit color palletes.
Kindly upload the images to other image hosting sites. I can't view imageshack. Thanks.

Wow, Jimmy. That is rather impressive, malfunction-wise. I like what you were going for with that recolor though.

I did this (open spoiler below) using GraphicsGale. The image there shows how the sprite sheets looked before the palette change, after, the formation units and how they looked when imported back into Shishi.

It wasn't as complete of a recolor though. Maybe that's why mine worked out as easily as it did.

EDIT: I didn't see this before.
QuoteAnd this is what happen when i copy and paste the palletes that i wanted...
I went in and changed each color manually, one RGB value at a time. No saving or loading of palettes or anything like that. Just straight number manipulation.

Oh....so meaning you just click each color and change?
That way it will work? Like what you shown above...

However, this is the palletes for the original knight that i exported from shishi.

Why there are so many? Is it because there are 256 colors?

The first 5 lines are the different palettes for the sprites. The last 5 lines are the matching palettes for the portraits. They are seperate for each sprite. Now you can find which color on the first palette line matches the color you want to be replacing, and just replace it in the first line, that should solve your problem. There are other ways to do it, but I would start with that. And yes the bmp that the game uses are 256 color, it just only uses one palette line at a time.

Post the full .BMP file.
I refuse to play Final Fantasy Tactics again until I am able to do my FF6 patch! And, FFT 1.3 doesn't technically count as FFT: so there!

So meaning i just change the first line with the palletes that i want?
Just load the save palletes or change the color one by one?

Yes something like that. If you post the original .BMP of the Knight re-color I could see what was the problem with the blue shit. Is it the recolor Vanya made?

Ohya...Celdia. Sorry but that is not my work. Its other people's work which is really nice and i just use it as example for palletes knowledge.
It's not that i'm trying to steal other people's work or credit or something like that.

I meant the sprite image...the pixels...like i want the eyes to be blue...so now that the palletes are fine, i just use the blue and color it on the eyes and done, right?

Sorry but there is 1 more thing i don't get about portraits.
What does smash meant by taking palletes 128 - 143 and replace them at palletes 1-15??
And why when did that, the colors became like everything is messed up?
Sorry but i still don't get this Cid.

128-143 is for the Portrait's Palette, you only need to edit those if you are editing the Portrait, which you aren't yet so don't worry about it. He was talking about if you made the Battle sprite and Portrait using the same colors, then you could do that.
