It would be very buggy. The game uses your main hand to determine the range of both weapon attacks. A gun with sword range, or a sword with gun range.

Don't do it.

Help! / Re: Slowdown Patch

Did you try searching "slowdown patch" on this forum from the main page?

Or checking the WotL board? The slowdown patch topic is stickied there.

Help! / Re: Assistance with WotL on PC

I've never seen any PC issues. Everything resizes appropriately on any emulators I've used.

As for mobile, just download a mobile emulator and play the PSP version there.

New Project Ideas / Re: Patch Ideas Proposal Thread

There's an ASM that allows you to harvest the Guest-only slots and use them for party members.

Probably the best mod that would feature it is The Lion War, though it's not released quite yet.

Got a general question, and since this mod seems to be the most active, I'll simply ask here...

Is there a way to mod FFT so that random battles can occur on towns and castles on the world map? Some of them already have battle maps associated with them, it would be nice/challenging if random battles occurred in this 'safe' spots on the map. In vanilla it happens for some storyline fights, but could it be setup to happen randomly? Would also be nice to see some 'event-only' maps tied in to battles.

FF Hacktics Rocks! Mad love for all your hard work!

Someone actually asked about this not that long ago.

1. Random Battle Editor: http://ffhacktics.com/smf/index.php?topic=11694.0
1.2 Check the Event Editing tutorials: http://ffhacktics.com/smf/index.php?topic=9204.0
EasyVent: http://ffhacktics.com/smf/index.php?topic=11675.0

2. Not exactly easily doable... there is no space allocated for random battle data for these locations.

The best sort of compromise might be a repeatable Mark you can get from a tavern or an option to select to move to the location while you're already on it to trigger one specific battle (I know there's a way to do that for random battles in the regular spots), but both would require some work.

IIRC, that will indeed make Ramza crouch.

In addition to everyone else on the field.

It's probably not enough info, no.

For one, what exactly is the "parting shot" message?

Two, what ASMs?

Three, what patcher work did you change, specifically having to do with Ramza?

Also, try disabling sets of ASMs and seeing if the issue pops up again; that'll usually help narrow it down.

You should really give at least a description of the sprite you want made. And ideally a picture, too. Even if the sprite is for a completely unique original character of your own - draw up a sketch of some kind.

Without even knowing what kind of sprite it would be, it's almost impossible for a spriter to give you a realistic price estimate. Or for them to know how much work it'll be going in.

While we're at it, how much are you willing to spend on this commission? Even for a simple humanoid sprite you're probably looking at the triple digits - USD.

Celdia's Complete Patch / Re: CCP - Battle Logs

... Asking Celdia herself if she can upload or send that stuff?

Then trying your hand at fixing it afterwards.

Celdia's Complete Patch / Re: CCP - Battle Logs

Working on a remake? Not sure what gives you that impression. The posts I've seen from Celdia indicate that RL has become too high priority to develop CCP further for the time being.

Quoteone that requires levels in both white and black mage
693
You just... set their unlock level to a later job.

You said you set your enemy to White Mage unlocked at whatever level. Try any level of Summoner instead. It'll have all the job levels it needs to reach Summoner, including some levels of White and Black Mage.
694
Your screenshot is horribly fucked. It's also completely unnecessary.

Even generic characters can be set up in Jobs they don't have unlocked, as is the case here. On top of that, because it's not unlocked, there are no points in its skillset. So it doesn't know anything.

You need to set it up to have a later Job unlocked, one that requires levels in both white and black mage. That'll give it enough points for spells from both sets.
695
The Patcher. You can change their Job stats the same as any other.
696
Well, you can pull the patch from whatever ISO you've been testing it on, too. As long as you haven't saved over it yet.
697
If you're changing enemy sprites, you're best off just using multiple enemies of the same job with different equipped skills, and then changing their palettes if you still want them to look different.

If you're adding allies, you can reduce the party size accordingly. You can also make them share jobs with some of the enemies, too.
698
Every map isn't different. It's just that random battles assume the player brings 5 different sprites, and thus are always limited to 4, while story events will swap sprites out or limit the party accordingly, so they're more flexible.

The sprite limit in PSX is 9.

Help! / Re: FFT 1.3 Sprite Changes
July 25, 2018, 09:50:33 am
Yep, that's what I suspected might be the case. It's possible to accidentally (or deliberately, if you want to be a bit of a control freak) break the patch so the FFH tools don't work with the patched ISO.

And since 1.3 isn't supported here, I couldn't really answer whether that was the case or if you'd simply done something incorrectly.

The mod's author was also infamously unreachable for a very long time when his entire website was broken and none of the admins had access to the tools they'd need to fix it  - before he returned to demote them for a few days, then axe the site entirely - so we couldn't even try to ask him about it if we wanted to.

QuoteHahahahahahha
No she actually did get offended and spewed unnecessary comments

Remember the part where I already told you you need to show more initiative and poke around and Try Things a bit more? Again, this isn't as bad, but it is still bad, especially after realizing you already read someone else's topic advising to go into the Other Images tab and you still didn't.

You aren't a child. You shouldn't need to be gently told the same thing over and over and over within a very short time span. If you can't manage to handle something as simple as that, you aren't ready to be modding a game. Managing to get this far after having only owned your first computer for two months is probably pretty impressive but you still aren't there yet, if much of this topic is any indication.

QuoteYes I poke around shishi and I found that other images section but how do I replace the Sprite

Again: at your fingertips, if you'd just spend 30 seconds looking. It's... almost identical to replacing battle sprites, even, and didn't you already do that?
