Mirc is what i use. saves chat logs if you care for it, and stores and lists various other features.

plus it can transfer files pretty fast with other Mirc users.

Same. mIRC 6.2. It'll complain about needing to be registered after a bit but you can use it regardless of that.

Yeah, irc.esper.net, port settings I've got open are 5555 and 6667-6669. Wonder why its not working.

The only thing I could think of if anything is it's being blocked by my silly college network which has an on/off thing of working on certain things like YouTube, Windows Live Messenger, etc.
But my personal firewall has the ports opened.

Hmm, odd... the two characters I used the most in FF7, of course the chances of those two being a "couple" in any sense of the word is quite beyond reason. Yuffie is excitable and consistently annoys nearly everyone she's around. Vincent is quiet and hardly says a word, not to mention he's completely broken up from that other... girls... death. Odds of a guy like him recovering is slim to none, and if he did recover I'm sure he wouldn't choose a teenage prankster like Yuffie as a partner.

Opposites attract to a point. vincent would most likely maim yuffie after about 2 years. and i dont think yuffie is capable of sitting still long enough to cling onto vincent like in your avatar


Also, i had that problem with Mirc for awhile to, i ended up reformatting my hardrive one day and it worked the very next morning. until then i just used java, which you might need a better browser to support IRC. such as firefox(if you arent already) IE didnt like IRC Chat rooms much for me.

I am using Firefox (IE sucks! >_<; ), and it won't work and neither will mIRC, I guess it's just not meant to be. =/
