Corel programs (Painter and Draw for instance.) are designed around mimicking traditional media. You shouldn't be using it for pixel art, EVER, FOR ANY REASON. NO, NO! BAD! GET AWAY FROM THAT. GO TO YOUR ROOM. AND DON'T YOU BLARE THAT LINCOLN PARK! YOU ARE SO GROUNDED, YOUNG MAN!

There is nothing wrong with using Photo-shop for pixel art however it's akin to trying to kill a fly with a gun. It has more features than you need to get the job done, with only layers, about 30 undos, and a powerful color tool being really truly helpful.

Killing a fly with a gun man she just keeps getting better cause that is an excellent metaphor.  And go for simplicity uless you have a mac (r even if you do) use MS paint it's the equivalent of killing that fly with your bare hands.

Yeah photoshop definitely has way more features then you really need.
I'm liking graphics gale atm, and I'm surprised how many people just use MSpaint.
I like having layers to mess with.

I like the simplicity of MS paint, yes you can use others but why would you have to.  Though your reason for GG has merits.
