Title: Job Changes + New Jobs

Here I will list all of the job changes including what is available to the player as well as the characters that possess special jobs. Abilities will be discussed in a separate thread.

Also, below you will find a visual of the current human roster, excluding Ramza. As you will see there are more available to recruit than you have space for so you will have to make some choices further down the line.

Aliste has been left out of this, but will be available at the same place you would normally recruit Beowulf.

Currently the PSX version is being worked on.

Aliste has been added in. and you find out in the story that He defeated beowulf. Later, at Nelveska you are forced to fight Reis who seeks vengeance for the death of her love.

Yeah, chances are, Ignis will be the last special unit you get since she is at the END of DD. since her skillset is similar to draw out, i might make her have lvl8 Samurai unlocked.

Barrent and Aeris wont have as many skills as cloud. Barret will have long range skills that wont require a gun, that is IF i can get his gun arm/defending animation to activate for his skills. He has innate martial arts which will boost his skills, so monk is an excellent job for him to train on as well.

I wanted to, however...

Not to offend anyone but none of them look quite the way i want. I prefer the dancer body/arms with an added red jacket but with the lines in the front of the dress removed and have GOOD shading. At the same time, i kind of like the idea of using THIS worlds AeirS over the other one.

the characters in this picture is your HUMAN roster.

but i havent chosen where to add in Tamera. Due to the large cast, she will be a bonus character with little dialog (at this current time anyway).

Endure: that instantly casts Protect/Shell/Defend

Beatrix is also a bonus character but she may have more to the story.

she will be quite a useful character, most of her skills are status
like Sleep 2/Confuse 2/Blind 2

however she also gets the BIG ultima, I guess you could say having All-Ultima would make her broken but its revamped to be used by the player.
99 mp cost and a higher CT, so get either short charge or half of mp.

She comes in place of Orlandu

Yeah, I most likely will do Dragoon instead of lancer

Priest and Wizard arent as important to change, but i might do that as well to be more FF like

Their job will be the same, basically a ninja that uses the 3 elemental Skeans like on ff6, instead of Throw (which i will give them as secondary)

maybe ill call the skillset Jutsu? but what about the job name?

There's another thing as well. Since blue mages will be joining the wheel of jobs I suppose i could make a blue version of the red mage on the sight, but what about the female........?

the skills aren't properly named and i dont think you have the sprite. it actually isnt a bug just an entd change accommodating a new character.
However, she will be removed from that location and your first encounter with "Miang" will be there. "braver" and the skill below it might come in handy tho for time being. That was where Tamera was going to be put in. but that idea has been changed.

all of these skills will have the same range as galaxy stop. Haste2 and Slow2 are NOT the same version that time mages have and could do for slightly different names. Galaxy Stop and Return will have MP costs as well

Unlike the original version of FFT. Mighty sword skills have a 100% chance to do hp damage to monsters and unequipped humans. The only defense against this is to have "Maintenance" equipped. Beware of this when you encounter the other divine knights as well.

yeah DP i saw that post, I'll consider them Hydrokenisis sounds doable. its  hard to think of matching ones for wind and earth

I could do that, i doubt i have enough slots to create a brand new skill for that tho, and it would probably just be a dupe of "Cura" anyway.

but I don't really see the point of it simply because in FFT you pretty much create those kind of jobs unofficially by adding white magic as a secondary.... still i guess it could be done. give her like Cura, Esuna, Life or something

For the elemental jobs you could add the suffix -mancer, or Manipulator, or Caster, or Muse, or a combo of different names... I'm just throwing out random ideas.

she could still have the cachusa and salty rage which are rare items. the other stuff will be random based on what level you are on

Cachusa, and the other 2 adornments now grant decent hp/mp bonuses now. however they have all been converted to "hats" so that all characters can wear them if their job allows it.

Cachusa is definately a useful gear even till the end, just like Golden hair pin which originally had the best mp bonus.

I'm debating weather to make Reflect Mail, which has been changed to "Adamant Armor" something that can be obtained normally thru shops and randoms, or making it rare. DEB comes equipped with one, and it grants a pretty good bonus.

why would the highest level hat Ribbon be the lowest hp? because your friggin immune to EVERYTHING, i mean damn...

she will have a fixed Cachusa, Salty Rage?, and Chiribalblbabla sword since she finds it instead of you.

the only way to get that sword is to recruit her. (or i guess get it thrown at you)

dunno what im gonna do with that sword yet. I had wanted to make a lower level Knight sword, but the patcher doesn't allow changing the attck gfx. also I haven't made the "shadowbinder" bow yet but i dont know if i need to since ive made units that can use a longrange shadow stitch anyway.

so im changing some plans, for jobs like "joker" and "sniper" they will use generic time mage and archer sprites with alternate palettes (for now)

sooo that means this girl could potentially be a playable OR a special enemy/guest

she will still be the "sniper" job

any ideas for her? role etc?

Her original job was Sniper which included these skills:

Sidewinder = Poison OR Doom
Heartbreaker = Charm [Ignore gender]
Stun Shot = Stop
Assassination = Dead
Gravity Well = [ Like shooting "Demi" at the target]
Blast = Physical damage, perhaps with formula 2D, range of weapon. Blue magic for Mustadeo. only a few of the snipers will have this one.

well, jimmy, she can basically shoot assassin skills at you

of course they are SP based success rates instead of 100%

In addition, she can also shoot a gravity spell at you lol

I listed her skills here a few posts up, but i forgot to include that she also has Medicine Shot, which will esuna + small healing

I still remember last time I played at the mission of saving Rafa, I lose countless times because the sins are too disturbing to my party, while Rafa is too stupid to attack head-on =.= Lol

I think it means you need to be hit by it to get the skill to learn it, a la Ramza's Ultima skill or Zodiac/Zodiark.

I created duplicate versions of Stasis Sword and Night Sword that can be obtained late in the game (Deep Dungeon) by being hit with them

Basically you have to be lucky and get hit by one of those by certain generic dark and holy knights. its Chapter 4 stuff

It will probably be raising her arms like the spell casting

that or a motion kind of like when the assassins cast shadow stitch

but yea you do not see any swords drawn out at all. its like casting a spell so ill probably stick with the raised arms motion (draw out is pretty much this motion but with a sword in the held up hands

Something came to me when I was thinking what would be a great Draw Out animation, particularly for the characters Ignis and Elmdor. I was thinking "Muramasa," but was slightly inspired by the "Bizen Boat" screenshot with her kneeling down. Instead of using the usual "fireflies and ghouls" animation for that's characteristic of Muramasa, how about the floating-feather animation that's used after the Fairy summon? Except retouch the background to be in a darker red (hopefully keeping the feathers the same light pink), with an additional attack animation like the Ashura-slashing effect? It would be a suitable animation for a swordskill that can only be learned Blue-Mage style. :)

Understood. I just read that there has been extensive progress of removing the Summon portrait in summon animations, and thought that the Fairy Summon would be ideal for the Muramasa Sword Spirit skill.

things like Silf because the focus goes off center as if something is supposed to be there. Fairy is kind of like that unfortunately

i just want u to know tho,

i did my test run of my patch with celia and lede in my party from the beginning and it was still very hard without training.
imagine having to do it with only your normal characters available.. cause thats how it will be

Another thing to note:
The blue mage job AND the ability to recruit monsters is currently on hold as well

Also, the secret characters are:

Gafgarion - Choose not to save boco and gaffy will join  you upon death at the gate of lionel (not implimented)
Monica - Choose to kill Miluda over recruiting her and Monica will join at Murond (not implimented)
Tamara - (IF i can get someone to make a more professional portrait for her as she is supposed to be cute not look like a drag queen lol) (Tamara has absolutely no story in my patch thusfar and might end up only as a random in DD)

I am thinking of changing Mystic Knight, Alicia's Blue magic skill from "Omegaflare" (Flare2) to
"Nanoflare" as a sword strike skill instead and giving Omegaflare to one of the other jobs and it appears that Ovelia would be the best candidate actually but would then lose Ultima(2)... Thoughts?

2 more characters (unimportant to the story) are being added as 2 of your starting "squires"

they will be your "blue mages" Wedge and Jessie and the only access to a full blue mage type class

I will consider them squires and will probably be mostly head/portrait swapped/palette changed male and female squires as they are part of your "cadet" team at the start.

They won't be much help at the beginning for certain, having only "Accumulate" available to learn

nope, they are with your initial team but just are nothing extraordinary as far as stats growth and they will only come with "Accumulate" learnable as well as the standard r/s/m. The rest of their skills are all blue magic learned mainly from monsters which all are non recruitable now. However, They will each learn a different set of "blue magic". Wedge will lean more towards the "holy" path, while Jessie will go more towards "darkness"

now i got Jessie, Wedge, and Olan who have black hair

also as you can see, each of them have different set of blue magic making them both unique. however, it's not decided yet if those are the specific once for that particular one. They really are supposed to be inconspicuously normal characters up until chapter 2. which is why they are dressed as squires.

lol, alltho the collar wont match, it never matched the initial concept sprite anyway. this might seem odd attached to a squire but what the heck, i might attach it to a generic sprite that has a collar or alter the squire sprite in the first place with a jacket. then in the end ill probably make him the one that learns shadowflare

talk about a funny looking male squire!, theres plenty of room for improvement, the hair in the back makes it obvious the original hair had a cape, plus, i donno i need to do something more to it... perhaps the thief body or something else would work out better... but it needs to be the body of one of the generics to a degree. vanya's warrior template or perhaps the body i used for zodiac will do the trick.

If you can change the shirt color on the top sprite, it'll be good. That portrait's exquisite; I can see why you wanted to snatch it up. My only gripe here is that he's too cool looking to be a male Squire. Whatever though, it's no big deal.

well here's what ill probably do, is also give Jessie a custom (but already existing) body as well,

what color should i change his shirt or jacket to? btw, they are both actually blue mages so im gonna go with the custom looks over the squires. i just wish i could get a portrait of that quality to go with jessie lol. Basically, without adding any dialog really, Im going to make it so Vicks, Wedge, and Jessie are actually siblings, however Wedge and Jessie never made it up the ranks like Vicks did and therefore are also "cadets" like ramza and delita.

also, i think one thing annoys me about the zodiac body for this character, i think i want to change the arms as they look too big. suggestions?

For the shirt or jacket, I'd suggest using the Death Corps green, but that's cause I've always had a partiality to it. It might not look too great or work on this particular character. And yeah, this guy could use some different arms; right now he's got some big ol' meat-hooks. Whose arms are you gonna give him though?

maybe so. perhaps ill stick with a similar design for Wedge that the portrait was modeled for, having dycedargs robe, i just dont like the idea of it being black just like his hair, thats too much...

also i dont think wedge is a good name for that, i think ill swap Vick's and Wedge's names with eachother lol

Some characters have the same job Such as Frimelda and Zalbag both being holy/white knights but generally every special character is unique. there is an abundance of characters you get, however, and you will have to make a choice because you have access to more units than your party can hold
