Title: Monk Rehaul Job Discussion
Post by: LastingDawn on December 23, 2008, 01:35:14 pm
Well a while back, I made a few " claws"  out of the bags, they look Far from decent, but if anyone would like to take stab at it...?

As well... I completely forgot we could control the formula of unarmed weaponry! Should the Monk's unarmed formula be changed (to something already available?) or a 25% chance for something or other? Or are we still keen on the Pole and Claw ideas?

Also, feel free to use the Ax as a base, that should work just as well.

So I'm reviving this topic in an attempt to get this off the ground again. I am attaching the frames of the monks different punch animations as a reference to work off of. I'm hoping some ambitious spriters are willing to take a crack at making some good looking claws (the weapon) set over the fists. If someone makes some good sprites Lasting Dawn and I will get cracking on having them work in game.

I need to know the color limits, and how many should they be for front and back.

Color limit... 6 including black for transparency. So 5 colors to work with.

Front or back? If you mean for front attacking and back attacking, then three for each. On for each angle. So in the above pic you would want one claw frame for each column. I know the first frame of animation is at a bit of an odd angle, but that wont matter when it is animated I think so focus on making the claws look good with the second and third frame of the punch animation.

That make sense?

Smash brings claws.

Still a concept though, these may not be the desired result, yet.

It is for the most part, Definitely the desired result! Only thing I would like to change is the location area, since these are replaced Axes, the Ninja Sword has already been replaced. Amazing results though for the confined spaces you had to work with.

Those look freaking amazing Smash! Though now you have ruined all my plans for the day as I will likely spend the rest of it trying to get these working haha.
