Title: CoP progress Log.

As to copy Eternal.

I won't work as much as he does, since I am in my exam week. Oh well.

2011-05-16:

- Got the first revisionned script (1/3) for chapter 1.
- Written a new event script, sent it for revision to 2 persons.
- Started a new event (Cinematic2)
- Nearly finished a little map change (Yuguo)
- Balanced Ch2 Battle1.
- Started to work on Ch2 Battle2.

-Changed the Colossus job :
Collosus now cannot enter water
Lost innate protect
Hold tight mana cost increased by one (2).
Headbutt mana cost increased by two (2).
Stone step is now instant, mana cost increased by 2 (3) and deals damage based on PA, not weapon.
Stone Stare brave reduction changed from 8 to 12. Mana cost reduced to 1. Ct increased to 2. Dosen't follow target
No longer loses mouvement in water.
Now immune to : Don't act, poison, Silence, Petrify. (Giving new powers to ''hold tight and headbutt)
Now halves all basic elements besides fire (L,I,W)
Weak to Fire, Dark and water. (stone explodes when exposed to fire)
Collosus now start each battle hasted, but lost some speed.

Gained a new skill : Rockfall. Causes damage in a line in front of the collosus. Earth-based attack. Deals medium damage, cost no mana.

This is considered a major buff.


-Changed the Daredevil job :

Added a new skill based on random damage.


-Changed the Berserker job :

Added a new skill that deals fire-based damage to a single target.


-Changed the Magus job :

Reduced Hp multiplier slightly.


-Changed the Phaseshifter job :

Augemented Hp multiplier slightly.
Reduced C-EV to 45%


-Modified all jobs : Added 20 mp multiplier to every jobs based on magic. Added 10 to melee jobs.

-Arale now has better AI and weapon. (umad, px?)

-Lesial should now be more difficult.

2011-05-17:

-Removed Innate Defend UP and Magic Defend UP.
- Added nearly 30% HP multiplier to every job class, rounded up. (This is necessary... I am sorry, low stats lovers. This won't change much in the late-game, thought. But if it is to stay as that in low levels, URGH!)
- Added about a +2  and +25% hp change to all Hp items.
- Reduced all High-MA skills by about 15-20% damage

Elementalist Skillset changed :
Burn is now based on MA (lawl)
Shock increase to 4mp per cast

Reduced nearly every ability cost by 25.

-Reduced X-bows powers by 1.
-Rods that can cost spells attack power reduced to 2.

-Changed Ilya initial faith to 63 from random.
-Changed Shaefer initial brave from 85 to 35(!) (I just realised he's a wuss)

-Reduced Synergy in all skillsets to 25 jp from 200jp.
-Changed Luck infusion to (1,2,3,4) hits with higher mp cost, charge time, and effiency.

-Did a lot of balance test a a few tweak to certain techniques.

-Planning new excell sheets once everything is rebalanced.

-Sent out two versions of CoP1.3 to playtesters so that they can help with the new damage system.

-Removed Lysay being weak to Lightning. (yeah...She had that)
-Fixed Golem, Berserker and Guardian's  job descriptions to include weaknesses.
-All bows/crossbows now are considered as Wind.

- Wicked world is now a MP removing AOE.
- Pyroclasm speed and damage lowered.
- Doubled CT on Fear (Now 4)
- Buffed Terror
- Buffed Dimension X, Increased the percentage/success rate by a tad
- Fixed (I think) slow dance.
- Changed Daredevil to equip light things, not armors, but gave them acess to Bow, Crossbow, and books. (Because they are random!)
- Lucky Infusion: Now more strong, hits up to 4 times.
- Sanity Gamble: Increased Hit Percentage slighly, and then reduced mp cost.
- Lucky 7: Reduced JP cost of 777 to 300
- Health Gamble: Increased Hit Percentage slighly.
- Roulette Fissure: Now wayyy stronger since it's impossible to land a hit.

- Soulseek reduced to 15%, but made it available to target enemies.
- GravelStrike : Reduced damage.

- Magic Rift reduced MP from 6 to 4
- Infuse increased percentage by 15
- Deplete  increased percentage by 15
- All Magic cost and damage reduced.

- Quick Order increased percentage by 15
- Tactics increased HP gain from 4 to 6, mp cost increased.

- Lowered some levels on enemies in many battles.

- Lowered difficulty on the puppet battle.

Now I just need the new text for CoP 1.3

-Added a new ability for squires that does high damage but requires long charging. I want to call it Xin strike.

-Added 1 CT to most mp-costing abilities.

-Added 3 new abilities for Gospel. They cost almost nothing in JP. (50/75/75).
Aegis : (holy elemental) Gives wall to an ally, not self, for very short time (5ct). Instacast but mp-heavy.
Team spirit : Raise brave by 10. Very long to cast but mp-free.
Courage : Gives regen to a unit. MP and CT used.

-Goblin tackle now has 1 CT.
-Goblins now have another ability that lowers Brave by 25.

-Permanent Brave/Faith changes removed. (Phew!)

- Started scripting all the other events. (Plans = Finish it tomorrow).
- Minor map edits.

- Set me up some deadlines :
10 august : Get chapter 1 (CoP1.5) perfected and show it to some hacking sites (Text and one bug left).
31 august : Give CoP 2.0 to the world. (That's chapter 2) with or withouth sprites/bugs.

- Fixed all elements, text, difficulty, item, map, from chapter 1... that I could find.
- Fixed the problem of gospel having no exp in the first battle.

Today, CoP has been officialy re-organised and Chapter 1, 2 and 3 are certain not to bug.

Multiple saves have been added to both chapters, allowing you to save every damn 2 minutes.

Base work has been done for chapter 3.

After 2 days of trying to find a solution, a problem has been solve and a single event has been added. Gotta keep in mind to do less complicated things, because that event has 9 sub-event and it had 16 before resizing.

One battle is also mostly done, some map editing took place. Guess I should start my event list again.

Fixed my problem with Sgrace, started and finished Plans. It was a easy event but it's the first I had to create from scracth since a long time ago. I had to make the text myself << Oh well.

Started and finished Storm1, it's mid event and the end event.
Started and finished Storm2 and it's mid event.
Created new abilities for the recruitable units.
Fixed some text errors, made some new text.
Found a way to incorporate chest withouth any jumping sounds or graphics glitch, but this will take a long time to incorporate (just time consumming)

Got some new script and incorporated it. Welcome back Eternal(Under shackles) to the team.

Worked a LOT today.

Basicly, finished reimporting all sprites(!)(Yeah that was an issue...sigh)
And also I continued work on Storm 2 End.

I hope il be able to do a lot more once my job finishes calling me 6 days a week and when I am done moving out (this sunday)

I am not forgetting my promise to try to end Chapter 3 by this september

I was gone for 3 days.

Came back, finished the Puppets2 event. Not quite pleased with the details. Oh well, one not so good event is better than nothing.

I should get vacation in one or two weeks so I can really boost CoP's production
Meanwhile, Raven is completly revamping the battle system by himself.

I now have good and bad news.

Good : Il have 11 days off starting the 9th, and I have 7 free days out of those and il probably spent 3-4 on CoP alone.
Bad : Until then, Il be unable to work on CoP more than a little. Il still try.

This 1m15 better be worth it XD

I know progress is slow, but Il keep on doing CoP. Cmon Kokobo.  About 5 events left, counting all sub-event, that's only about 8! And 5 of them are fairly easy to event edit. Woo!

Finished Deal, it's a great event despite it's lack of animation (Mostly talk, hehe) but I really like the pace I gave it.
Soon gonna need 1-2 playtesters for Chapter 3 (Just events, not battle). This will include big spoilers! So don't apply if you want the battle experience as well!

Motivation? Beat JoT5 to the finish line! Be the first completed story patch and do it almost single-handedly! Hey Kokojo, not sure how much difference one voice can make, but I am absolutely loving what you've done with FFT here.  You've managed to bring life back into something I used to be obsessed with, but haven't touched in many years.  I've only played a little so far of your patch, but please keep going with it, if you can.  Very much looking forward to a completed version of your ideas!

Currently working on re-finishing the Chapter 3 events, I rushed them way too much.

Next goal : Fixing the BONUS MONEY thing comming up after each battle and giving all of chapter 3 correct map titles.

BONUS MONEY has been fixed.
Two maps in chapter 3 have been retouched a lot.
I started to work on the map titles but it's gonna be a lot of work.

Last 2 events of chapter 3 were touched up, I decided to add way more text to the ending of chapter 3, so that's gonna take a bit more time.

Progress is progressing~

I decided chapter 4 should be short (4-5 battles max).

Map titles were not hard, but were VERY FUCKING LONG TO DO. AUGH.
Finishing the touches on the last event of Chapter 3, will continue tomorrow.

Also, working on a list of what I will have to do when I have my new battle system, and what I will do in the meantime.

By the way, I think il need someone to watch all the events in chapter 3 just for the hell of it and tell me what he likes, dosen't like, dosen't understand about the story and plot and if some events are ugly to his eyes.

In other news, fixing some small bugs/text that dosen't make sense in the meantime.
I noticed il have to redo must battle ends to have a better ending and to keep up with the loot. Should't take too long to update but I want to get the perfect layout first.

Is the latest download version 2.200?  That post was in 2012 so I want to make sure I have the latest/greatest before sinking my teeth in.  However, if you're getting close to finishing it all, I'll wait a bit for chapter 4 to be completed.  I'm excited for it!

I worked a bit on chapter 3 a bit more recently after I noticed a few more problems during a test run.

Spent some time fixing a bug in order to allow the smooth and correct transfer from chapter 3 to chapter 4.

I also now welcome Jumza to the team that will help me do events!

My script should be received shortly, allowing us to do event hopefully a bit quicker.
I also worked on the ''Foward!'' event quite a bit because it was not to my liking.

Along with Jumza pushing me, I hope to finish chapter 4 by the end of 2014 and polish CoP's events completly out before april, 2015. I have decided that if it's not out within that time, then I will really retire from Event Editing. (Drama, but seriously, I want to finish this)

The problem was that the gravity had been somehow removed from Kokojo's household, everything was just flyin and floatin around
all over the damn place. Certainly makes it hard to concentrate on eventing. Glad you can stand on solid ground again Kokobird.

I'd like to imagine that it was a swarm of flies in his house, which had a big fly king, while his house was flying away because he got inspirated by the movie Up and tied alot of balloons on his house, but he was outside, and there was no gravity inside his house because Diabolos.

PS: I dont think balloons on a zero gravity house make a good airship, at least compared to mine.

It was, sadly, only some 1000+ flies over a week's duration, with no cause discovered still. (With over 500 on the first day... The fight was epic and I swung around my electric fly zapper so much I broke it via air resistance. Also, a full can of RAID)

I want to unleash chapter 3, but that battle rebalance won't be done for quite some time, probably until I finish chapter 4. So even If I want and if chapter 3 is 90% complete, I will have to wait for it to be completed.

That scene should be made in a event. BTW that raid tho, I wonder what's inside a can of Raid considering it kills cockroaches, and they can endure a nuclear explosion apparently;

Upon discovering a bug in the link between the last 2 chapters, I wasted a lot of time fixing it. I also finnaly applied the text to the first event(!) and tweaked it to reflect what it needed to reflect.

I started to work on another custom map for the chapter as I din't want to event tonight.

Generic update. I worked on CoP, adding a few things, mostly finding a way to end each battle perfectly and withouth a care, using a new way to spawn the loot objects before quitting and making sure they get fired next battle, also, making ALL the event ends better by making them fade to black rather than jump to the skies! This is not done as it takes me a while and I am not sure my script will work perfectly.

Otherwise, I made some pretty evtchr. A lot.

Oh god, has it really been one month?

I din't post anything that I have done in the last 2 weeks as it concerned mostly chapter 1 and 2 and little bug fixes. Main work on Chapter 4 was not done beyond event 1, but I did write some more events.

I was waiting on something but decided fuck it, so Il be back to chapter 4 editing and not care about chapter 1 and 2 until I can do a whole playtrought :-(

Well this may deceive some, but I completly scrapped chapter 4 after event 1. It just din't make much sense and felt rushed.

I nearly finished the new script and started back to event 2 (I was at 3 before, so it's not much of a setback). I will talk with Eternal about the new event configuration and if it's pleasing then I will post the new event lineup.

This was a really unique mod that I was really looking forward to after completing chapter 2. It made me feel like I was playing Tactics Ogre with the color scheme and script. The first guy you played as (forgot his name) was way better than the second lady you played as and I would go back and redo the second chapter as it was not as good as the first in terms of depth of story. Please finish this very unique mod.

After deliberation I've decided to releash chapter 3 in early december with no change to the gameplay mechanics, AKA, no new battle system.

I will also not finish chapter 4, since it seems too much of a task for me after such a long time.

I am pleased by the results of what I have accomplished so far, and I thanks all that have supported me over the years. You'll see an end for CoP, not the first one I had in mind, but still, a end for this mod will be done.

I have registered to the site just to communicate further with the brain wizards behind these great projects. FFT is the best game ever, I think we all agree with that, and Kokojo, your undertaking to mod it is very admirable. I have seen your youtube videos of a few different playthroughs of CoP and it looks truly amazing! I will be the first in line to download it and play it. I read that December 16th (Which is tomorrow) is the target date you have for the release of the final chapter 3. I was simply wondering is this is still the projected date? I am all for testing and offering feedback, but like everyone, life is busy and I'd like to play a game with an ending. This will ensure I can really devote my time to it. I will be sure to offer up my thoughts on the game. What I have seen on youtube thus far is remarkable. With some time off for the Holidays next week, I have grown quite excited for the this completed mod. You deserve great credit Kokojo, thank you very much for your services.

Im currently working trying to get Chapter 3 ready for tomorrow., I am still not sure il be able to make a complete test playtrought tonight when I have done the final changes. At the worst, it will instead be releashed the 17th or 18th.

Im still adamant about not doing chapter 4, but il give myself a week to think it over, and then either releash the ending in paper form, or do chapter 4 (unlikely).

I sincerely do hope you release chapter 4. Really and truly, I would love to see this completed in your original vision, as intended, and I know I'm not the only one. No matter how much time you need, I'd love to see this finished to the level you set for yourself, and would be happy giving out for all to enjoy. I've just been glad to see you working on CoP again after so long, and seeing it truly complete would really be an awesome thing, no lie. I know I've never been a cheerleader at any point, but I have still always wanted to see CoP finished.

Please don't give up. Take whatever time you need, do whatever is necessary, but don't give up. You have a story you've put time, love, blood, sweat into. Even if other things may be more important to you now, think of how you felt crafting your vision. It's worth sharing. Whether you believe me or not is up to you, but if it took you ten years to put chapter 4 out, I know it would be worthwhile.

I don't mod and know nothing about it really, other than it takes time, commitment, effort, time, time and... time, but you are creating something that will never perish or expire. It will be forever preserved. Which is all the more reason to execute your vision. If Chapter 4 ever drops, you got one guy here for sure that will binge play it until completion  :D

I hope I am not deceiving too much. I had high hopes too and yet I realise I must take more time to fix some important issues that should have been fixed years ago.
