I'm comfortable with both RAD and UWEntries so I should be able to complete my plan. I believe the only variable in my way at this moment is number of available sprite slots. As it stands I'm trying to add 16 or so sprites to my patch. Which means I need to consolidate as much as possible. I'm using Celia & Lede unused and all of the undead knights, archers, mages etc, and all of those extra squire slots too. Is there anything I need to know about any of these sprites?

More importantly Can I use those weird graphical sprite sheets in shishi slot 5C, 5D,  and 5E? They aren't used for any weird effects or anything are they?

In order to have a 4th type of chocobo I need to swap the Chocobo and the Dragon monster families around. I could use Razele's the first X monsters are mountable hack to make Chocobo's mountable again, but that would essentially force me to make every monster except for the Hydra family mountable. This is not acceptable.

Here is my question:

Can I re-apply Razele's Job X is mountable hack multiple times to make each of my swapped chocobo's mountable again?

So, if I'm correct Reis Dragon formula's affects the six specific Dragon Jobs. Does Seal Evil work that way as well, does it affect those with Undead Status, or does it do both?

PSX FFT Hacking / 3 Simple ASM requests

I could use a few more formula changes if anybody here is willing. I bolded the changes. It seems like the Dark Sword skills are too powerful and in need of a good nerfing. Does the following seem sufficient?

Formula 5A Dragon: Hit (X%)

Formula 2F Absorb MP_(PA * WP) * 2/3

Formula 30 Absorb HP_(PA * WP) * 1/3

Anybody want to take this on?

I'm neutralizing growth in my patch. So, it is not helpful to recruit Soldiers at Level 1. I was wondering if anybody would make a hack so they were Ramza's Level -10? Also, is it possible to make them cost 1000 gil per level?

I need some criticism and advice regarding my Paladin and Dark Knight skillsets. My patch is a re-balanced vanilla with some job and monster restructure and expansion. I mostly want to know if anything is grossly under or overpowered? Keep in mind most of these skills have an mp cost; I'm just not sure how much I should charge. Additionally, if anybody has any better suggestions for skill names, I'm all ears?

I don't know who made this ASM but it's awesome I found it in FDC's list of ASMs for his unnamed patch. I'd use it as is but I intend to keep speed pretty low which causes it to do less damage than a normal attack. Would anybody care to change it to PA for me?

Formula 28 is now SP * WP with 1.5x damage if cancel status occurs.

Help! / Help. Spell Effect not showing damage?

Does anybody know how to make this effect show damage? I've tried applying it to Mustadio's skills and it doesn't seem to working. Am I missing something?

Spriting / Red Mage Sprite that I didn't make

So, I didn't make this sprite. It was made by Rathaelos. I simply changed the color of the feather and the scarf from yellow to white. I did however change the portrait completely, although I didn't actually create that either. I frankensprited it from Lijj's Red Mage portrait and Vanya's Alternative Aliste portrait.

I did however create a custom EVTCHR for this guy. During the first scene at Orbonne Monastery, Rad enters and kneels. If you've replaced his sprite with anything else, it bugs out for two really awkward frames. This frame replaces the Squire sprite with a kneeling Red Mage and prevents any graphical glitches.

I really like this and I'm interested if anybody else thinks this is as cool I do. What else could I do to make the portrait look better? Does his hair look okay? I couldn't really steal much of that.

I need to consolidate monster skills. Most patches do this by renaming Choco Beak, Attack, and giving it to every monster. I was wondering if there was any harm in giving 016F Attack to every monster instead. I know that Frogs use this skill as their attack. Are there any adverse side effects from doing this? Having one more open skill will make a big impact for me.

It bugs me that they dummied out her portrait in the Brave Story Menu. The picture is still there in Wldface.bin. Is there any way to put it back?

I'm having trouble creating a special monster with a generic spriteset. Whenever I try to create one in FFTPatcher it comes out with access to Chemist Lv. 0 in addition to its normal Job? What am I doing wrong?

Help! / Creating a Cover skill?

I'm trying to create a skill that's similar to Cover. The best way that I've seen to accomplish this are by using Persevere and an MA +1 Self healing formula as in Parted Ways Enmity skill.

How well would a persevering skill that gave allies Defend status work? If the knight in question is performing he loses evade right? Would the AI know well enough to target the defenseless knight instead of the well defended units?

Help! / Quick list of changeable sprites?

I'm working on my patch again. I've decided to add one special character and three generics to the game. The only thing I didn't really think about is where I'm going to put all 7 of these sprites. Is there a quick list of sprites that can be replaced. Is there room for 7 more sprites?

I want to eliminate bags.  They suck and they take up space.  I want to change them into other weapons but I want to make sure that when I change them into greatsword and guns they don't continue to look like bags in battle.  Are the weapon animations hard coded or are they based on the image and pallete you select in fftpatcher?

Help! / Algus's special attack at Ft. Zeakden

So, I was wondering.  I've heard that Algus's epic crossbow shot at Fort Zeakden is a special skill that probably shouldn't be over written in FFTPatcher.  Does anybody know which skill that is?  Is it the one between Meteor and Blind?  That's my theory.

So, I'm trying to replace Dragon Tame with a sword only version of v1.3's wildblow, but even though its learned its not showing up?  I've place it in the  07 Battle Skill skillset and I've checked it with Battle Skill as primary and secondary.  I'm also using Battle Skill on its native job the Knight.

By rights it should show up, but it doesn't and I can't figure out why.  Is there a problem with Dragon Tame?  Am I overlooking something?  formerdeathcorps uses this exact skill on another set and it works just fine?  Will somebody please help me?

I've included a print screen of the skill for reference.

Can you add random battles to story-only battle locations?  For example, I always thought it was a huge waste to have great maps like Fort Zeakden with its snow and its bridge only useable once.  I'd like to turn it into a random battle map.  Is this doable?

Help! / Animating a plain old weapon strike.

Man, I suck at this.  I've figured out how to create a working weapon strike but I can't get the enemy to react to it. I created some attacks for Mustadio and when he shoots enemies with them he shoots the gun, it makes a sound, but I can't get the targeted sprite to react to the gun shot.  What am I doing wrong?  Does anybody know what my animation bytes need to read or what flags I have to use?

I think I'm turning into one of those "no growth" people.  I don't want to punish my players for deciding at the end of the game that they no longer want ramza to be a melee character.  Has anybody worked out how much to adjust each classes stat multipliers so that every class gets the same growth in every stat, with the end result being the same average stats per level?

I think I know how to edit the ENTD to pull this off, but I want to know, will it mess anything up to replace one of the six starting characters with a guest version of Rad.  I want to make him sort of usable enough to gain some jp from the beginning of the game, to encourage the players to actually use him once they unlock him in chapter 2.  Also, I cannot remember do Guest JPs carry over to their Permanent counterparts.  If not, then there is no point in giving rad a slightly bigger part in all of this.

Inspired by my own desire to patch a custom version of Final Fantasy Tactics and the Least Favorite Jobs thread.  Seen Here: http://www.ffhacktics.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=3314, I want to know how everybody modified their job tree and their individual jobs.

For example.  I'm planning on giving Meliadoul's Mighty Sword Zalabag's ruin skills.  Also, I'm considering redistributing the Mediators abilities to other jobs like the Thief and maybe Squire and replacing him with a Blue Mage.

What did you do?  What jobsdid you hate?  What jobsdid you change or replace?  What new jobs did you include?  Finally why?

Is this hack as simple as it sounds?  Random battles are so much fun.  I could never do away with them.  Is there anybody that still does ASM hacking requests, because I have a great idea?

Optional Battles.  Simply go to a location open the menu and choose "Pick a fight" or something, and boom you are in a "random battle".  Most people reset the game when they get into a random battle that they don't want to fight or when they try to do just about anything else.  This option just eliminates the middleman and makes poaching, breeding, and proposistions a lot more convenient.  

Is this doable, has it been done, and is there anybody around that can do it?  I'm still pretty new here so I'm trying to learn the ins and outs of everything.  Oh, and just so everybody knows I use the hell out of the search function

I've been reading up on stuff on this forum, I downloaded some software, and I've been planning the changes I want to make to this game.  Specifically which jobs I want to alter and eliminate.  

I decided to eliminate the both Thief and the Mediator by combining them into one single job known as the Rogue.  For those of you counting, some of their respective support skills will be handed out to other jobs because of space issues.

Here is the thing.  What happens to the propositions and their recommended jobs for Thief and Mediator?  Can those be edited to make room for my dashing new rogue job?  Can I add job recommendations for any new jobs I create, like Blue Mage or Dark Knight?

Hi, I'm totally new.  I just discovered that this webpage exists last night.  Final Fantasy Tactics is the favorite game of myself and just about every gamer I know.  Discovering Final Fantasy Tactics: Complete was both very exciting and just a tad disapointing for me.

Everything about retranslating, increasing the difficulty, and reintroducing some of the missing elements is amazing.  However, the lack of the Dark Knight class, the inability to allow more than 16 party members, and the inability to add to the Job Wheel leaves me slightly disapointed.

So, from browsing the forums I know that you can replace any of your existing Job Wheel classes with FFT patcher.  

    1. Can the bard and the dancer be combined into one gender neutral class that uses the bard sprites for males and the dancer sprites for females?  
    2. Would this open up a free slot for the Dark Knight?  
    3. Could Boco be given the abilities of the other Chocobos?  Or could he be made into a monster class like Byblos where he is allowed to switch Jobs between the other Chocobo class?
    4. Can Byblos have a second Job, like Apanda for the bios spells?
    5. Can I recreate the new items from the psp version of the game?
    6. Would I be able to add any of all of these patches to Final Fantasy Tactics: Complete?
    7. Finally, where is the best place to start?
