Title: Sounds
Post by: Kivutar on May 09, 2012, 08:41:40 am
I found a tool to generate sound effects. rdein the creator of Momodora uses it for his games. http://www.drpetter.se/project_sfxr.html
We could use it to replace the corpyrighted sounds in our git repo.

This one also : http://labbed.net/software.php?id=labchirp

What sound effects do you need?  What sound effects do you currently use that need replaced?

The ones located here (https://github.com/Kivutar/tethical/tree/master/client/fft/sounds). You will have to download the whole branch to get at them, though (~40MBs; Downloads -> Download as...).

I don't think sfxr can properly do anything for the "die" sound effect, but here are candidates for replacing the original sounds: download (http://darkabstraction.com/showOff/ffhackticks/tethical-sfxr.zip).

I don't like the one for cancel or the one for select, but it was the closest I could get to the waveform of the originals with the program.

Yeah the die sound effect cannot be done with this program.
I like the sounds you made.
The confirmation sound is a bit too loud maybe, but for a first try they are pretty well chosen.
Anyway, they are here as placeholders. I pushed them in client/lij/sounds
