Final Fantasy Hacktics

The problem is in the fact that I am very poor at fully editing the portrait (which was the reason I had been asking for someone better to do it).  I'm aware that using his excited looking, open-mouthed sprite from CT matches neither the style nor the neutral expression on his actual sprite's body, but I am not skilled enough to edit the picture beyond resizing, palette-swapping, and removing the slight bit of excess color from the original.

If someone else would like to take a crack at making him close-mouthed and neutral, please have at it. ^_^

My thoughts exactly, Seushiro.  Which is why I'll stick with the original for now.

If I am inspired to change it later, I will. ^^

Well, considering Frog IS something of a "monster", having a different style from the human faces isn't necessarily bad.

Another update.  Behold, a portrait!



After learning that portrait's use their own palette of 16 colors, I realized that I could keep Frog's original portrait from CT with just a little editing.  Yeah, it's pretty shameless to go and just take the old image, but considering how complex Frog's face would be to do myself, I opted to go the route of simply tweaking the one from Chrono Trigger.  What do you all think?

It's all properly sized for placement in the spritesheet, and consists of exactly 16 colors.

I have placed Frog in the New Shishi format, since the new Shishi will make it much easier to get this sprite done.  Not much in the way of an update, but I'm slowly progressing forward. ^_^

A very good suggestion, Mike.  I start with this initial version and then work on a more accurate version based off the 10 year-old boy. ^_^

Thanks for the criticism.  I would probably not be able to do the jumping animation, but thanks to Mike's suggestion, a shorter version should actually be feasible. ^^

This is the current sprite.  Though I may eventually work to make Frog shorter, like he is in Chrono Trigger, it will be usable/submittable once it has a portrait. And I'm definitely going to submit it if someone is willing to do the portrait.

If I may be so bold, I started a Frog sprite last year that I never completely finished.  The only thing it is actually missing, however, is a portrait.  So my request is, would someone be willing to help me finish my Frog sprite by supplying a portrait?  I suck at the portrait part of spriting, and thusly require assistance from a more experienced person. ^_^

This is my current spritesheet for Frog.  As I have mentioned, he is missing only a portrait.

I posted this very long ago, last year.  I have since been away from the forums due to real life.  I'm hoping that, in the time I've been gone, someone will now be willing to finish it.

I've actually progressed far beyond that first post, lol.  ^_^

This was an ongoing project I started last year.  I have Frog almost perfected, but what I'm seriously lacking is a portrait.  Unfortunately, I'm rubbish at portraits.  That's why I'm reviving my thread.  In hopes of finding someone to complete the portrait and thus finish the sprite. ^^

It has been a very, very long time since I last came here.  And, much to my excitement (and slightly to my dismay), it seems a good deal has progressed without me.  However, I did note that no one decided to complete the Frog Sprite that I had begun so very long ago.  Therefore, I think I'm going to revive this topic for the sake of seeking someone to aid me in its completion! ^_^

Calling out to those who have experience and the willingness to help me create a portrait and at last finish my Frog sprite!

PS- I hope i have the opportunity to say hello to all those friends I made and I have dearly missed. ^_^

It is good to be back.

It has been several months since I have come to this site.  Real life took quite a toll on my free time.  The military tends to do that.

Anyways, I have returned and, first things first for myself, I would like to request someone with more talent than I to make a portrait for my Frog sprite.  I actually spent a good long while trying to design one, but I am simply no good.  I have seen the large number of sprites and other changes that have popped up in my absence, so I understand if people are busy with other projects, but my sprite needs only the portrait to be complete, and I would very much like to finish this one particular contribution to the site.

Well, what would be best to use in order to import the portrait once it is finished?  And where can I get it if I don't have it already?

Here is my Frog v 0.9.  Everything is finished except the portrait.  I'm actually in need of help figuring out how to make a new one and properly place it in the spritesheet.  Can anyone give me a hand with that?
