Duba?

Pwa

asdf?

That's a pretty nice format. Not so sure about the blue side, but I do like the artwork.

Important, recent news should be said by Ramza:  "Text editor is complete. Finally!"

I assume asdf is just there in place of what will be forum topics and stuff.

The background where the text is(when characters speak in FFT)/The forum's is better than the blue background and it fits with the artwork of Ovelia making it epiclike.

Red on blue is always a no-no.

In my opinion... red instead of the blue, with white links, would be easier on the eyes. But white links in general would be better. Red coordinates better with the tan of the comment box. Just don't make it high saturation red. Something more sedate is always better.

Those should already be much better, I have to admit the blue didn't fit well.

maybe change the text do some kind of dark *gray*. i don't like the "striped" upper part.

beside that, nice, i like it

EDIT: edited the color * *

I really don't know what else to put there... any idea? :/

Perhaps a random battlefield screenshot backdrop to whatever logo you come up with?

By random, I mean a different one pops up each time.

I like Test 2 But I 2nd adding a BattleField of some sort

I'm hosting this for myself; I use map2gl (mother's comp) while photoshop is on my comp. I should be able to come up with something nice that fits for all resolutions, although lower ones may not be able to see the full width of the map.

Okay, so I have a few ideas.  First I thought I'd make a few .gifs icons for links to replace the regular text links on Zodiac's design and made something like this:

(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v672/Powerguy500/forum.gif)

Whenever you would scroll over the link of the forum chocobo it would do the "glisten" effect.

But then I decided I wanted to take a crack at making a design.  Here is my idea:

(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v672/Powerguy500/blahblahblah.png)

Nevermind the T in the corner.  Now picture what I did for the chocobo, only whenever your cursor hovers over one of the characters in the logo it will glisten and the respective link title will phase into vision.  I would also make text links at the bottom just in case.

I like the idea but, that one is way too big. If the height gets to high compared to the width, it will look ugly considering the width the the navigation bar.

However I simply think it's not worth the trouble about the second one... it would be fancy & all but would end up slowing everything.

He's my latest piece of work before I'm off to sleep:

not bad zodiac! you might considering ading some "artistic" filter to the battleground, something like a blur or even better a "sketch" filter to make it lok like the art in the right corner.

It might turn out great! Ovelia looking at Delita.
Title:
Post by: Xifanie on March 05, 2008, 10:46:19 am
Yeah but in the real thing there will only be 1/21 chance that the pic will be Ovelia.
Title:
Post by: karsten on March 05, 2008, 10:52:44 am
not bad, how about moving the final fantasy hacktics logo upper on the lower right of delita?
Title:
Post by: Xifanie on March 05, 2008, 11:06:56 am
I can't really. It will look bad in one resolution and good with the other so instead I'd rather keep the logo there.

After looking a second time at it, I'll shrink the image in height enough that it will fit perfectly in 1024x768 because that's what most people use.
Title:
Post by: Kuraudo Sutoraifu on March 05, 2008, 10:37:22 pm
Zodiac, if you think the second one will slow things down then, I won't bother with it.  However for the .gif links they would definitely be smaller, but that image was big size for showcasing purposes.

Anyway, here is a cleaner version of the edit FFT logo, should you need it:

Oh yeah baby that saves me lotsa trouble.  :D
Title:

Last version?

If no one is against it, I'll start coding it into a real web page in a few hours.
Title:
Post by: karsten on March 06, 2008, 11:14:01 am
i would make the ffHacktics logo smaller and move it to the right of delita, close to alma, so that the pic is clearer
Title:
Post by: Xifanie on March 06, 2008, 12:47:57 pm
I'll try to do what I can but I can't move it too much nor resize it too much.

By the way, that's Ovelia; not Alma. >_>'

Post by: Austin on March 06, 2008, 04:08:45 pm
Looks good to me, also I was wondering what kind of stuff you were going to put in the walkthrough sections. Maps? Enemy info? Or just strategiez?
Title:
Post by: Xifanie on March 07, 2008, 11:36:37 am
All of that and even more... but I'm not sure for strategies; everyone has their own way to win a battle.

Well, time for a beta test. It works perfectly fine on my computer in Firefox/IE but I don't know how it would be handled for you guys.

Ok well I found out about the image taking not enough space, therefore the image is created again but for only 3-4 pixels. I'll fix that soon.

Please report ANY graphical bug. Try resizing the window too.
Title:
Post by: Kheldarn on March 07, 2008, 01:53:17 pm
I run in 1280x1024, and it looks pretty good. The only graphical problem I see is that it looks like the logo starts to repeat itself before becoming a blank black square. It's only a couple of pixels wide, so I'm guessing it's the problem you mentioned in your post.
Title:
Post by: Austin on March 07, 2008, 03:53:17 pm
I'm not having any problems with it.
Title:
Post by: gomtuu on March 07, 2008, 04:07:35 pm
Be sure to leave room for the scroll bar. If you're designing for 1024x768, then your page should really only be about 980 pixels wide.

Edit: Nevermind, I am a retard and was talking about the image, not the beta link.

I had quite a few problems because I had not the good size for the border of the sketch image (which was previously Ovelia). I lowered it by 11 pixels in width and now it's good.

Everything should work properly now so next thing I hit are random images which I surprisingly haven't been able to do yet. -_-'

Great work, Zodiac!

I still get the pixel error. Need a screenshot?

As for the random image thing, do this:

<?php

$files
=array&#40;"ImageName1&#46;gif",
"ImageName2&#46;gif",
"ImageName3&#46;gif",
"ImageName4&#46;jpg",
"ImageName5&#46;png"&#41;;

$baseurl="http://path_to_your_images_folder";

$random=rand&#40;0,count&#40;$files&#41;-1&#41;;

if&#40;substr&#40;$files[$random&#93;,-3&#41;=="png"&#41; Header&#40;"Content-type&#58;image/png"&#41;;
if&#40;substr&#40;$files[$random&#93;,-3&#41;=="gif"&#41; Header&#40;"Content-type&#58;image/gif"&#41;;
if&#40;substr&#40;$files[$random&#93;,-3&#41;=="jpg"&#41; Header&#40;"Content-type&#58;image/jpeg"&#41;;
readfile&#40;$baseurl&#46;$files[$random&#93;&#41;;

?>

Of course, you can add as many images as you want. Just put each on its own line. Save it as something like rightimg.php and then use this tag to call it:
<img src=rightimg.php>
That will cause the page to load a random image in that spot every time it's viewed.

Well, that's odd... I suppose I forgot to save or something.

As for the random image it's already working. Although Firefox handles it in a strange way since if I press refresh it will only load a new image about every 5 times I refresh. Works well in IE though.

Looks wonderful!  When might we see this incarnation of the site appear?
Title:
Post by: Xifanie on March 09, 2008, 04:30:12 pm
I still need the content! Plus right now I'm wondering how the user will be able to hotlking PSP or PSX pages without giving me the trouble of making a copy of each page for each version.
Title:
Post by: Kheldarn on March 10, 2008, 06:11:23 pm
Code both PSX and PSP info into one page using IF statements, then have them choose a link for the version they want. For example, if they wanted the Chapter 1 Walkthrough for PSP, the link would be something like this:
http://www.aurirech.eu/walkthrough/chapter1.php?sys=PSP
The IF statement would say:
if($sys==PSP) {
  code for PSP info
}

That gives one page, but two outputs, based on if the link is sys=PSP or sys=PSX.

I want to make sections for patches too; I'll code the whole thing so it loads from FFT's raw data.

I think I decided how to code the pages.
I will include the code with my main frame and use the $_GET method to load from .txt files from the specified folder.

For example:
URL
http://www.ffthacktics.com/walkthrough. ... &battle=21 (http://www.ffthacktics.com/walkthrough.php?s=psp&battle=21)
would load from
http://www.ffhacktics.com/psp/walkthrough/21.txt (http://www.ffhacktics.com/psp/walkthrough/21.txt)

similarly,
http://www.ffthacktics.com/walkthrough.php?s=gba (http://www.ffthacktics.com/walkthrough.php?s=gba)
would load from
http://www.ffhacktics.com/gba/walkthrough/0.txt (http://www.ffhacktics.com/gba/walkthrough/0.txt)

then result in a 404 error because there is no gba folder... yet. </jk>

Of course that will require me to have a duplicate of each file for each folder but I can simply link back to the PSX folder if it's the same information.
