Title: How do I make gameplay videos?
Post by: Havermayer on April 20, 2009, 01:41:34 pm
Okay, so I can use P.E.Op.S 1.18 to record a video, and Audacity to record the audio.  Using another program I can merge the audio and the video together, and convert it to something smaller.

So, is there an easier way to do it?  Is this how you guys do it?

Can you guys recommend the best software to use?  I am a bit clueless on what video editing software to use.

Thanks guys!

:D

Easiest way is to get a program like Camtasia or Fraps, which lets you record both video and audio at the same time, and then process them into a standard format.

I use Camtasia.  I really like it.  It has wonderful post-recording edit options, though I am unable to record both ingame and microphone sound at the same time, though that also may be a fault of my headset.

I run an uncompressed Avi file from Camtasia through Divx Converter to compress the 20+ gig movie into a <100 meg masterpiece for easy uploading.
