I would sugguest shortening the battle theme by getting rid of some repetition as the beginning is a little boring, but as the music gets progressively more intricate it gets very good

Quote from: "boomkick"Hey sephy, try and get some themes from FF7 because Cloud is basically a mercenary many ways through and some of the music may fit well, especially battle/boss themes.

Hint- Try Aerith's theme for some climatic or dramatic battle moment or scene.

I was thinking something similar. In addition to some new original themes, we could add other FF music remastered. The one I see most fitting is FFTA and FFXII as those have music by the same guy, and some FFTA battle songs are quite good.

You mean the battle formation screen song I did? The start is a little slow yes.. I think the progression speed of the song would depend on how much time anyone spends on the formation screen. The song is divided into segmentns (at least that's how I see it). The 1st 2 sections are repeated. You have segment1-->segment1-->segment2-->segment2-->segment3-->segment4-->etc.. I think that if I cut out both repetitions it'll feel rushed. Maybe taking out the 1st one, leaving segment1-->segment2-->segment2-->segment3-->etc.. but then again, that'd depend on how much time people spend on the formation screen.

I'll give it a change tomorrow and tell you guys here, and we can compare.

Well the formation screen, as nice as the music is, people probably won't spend too much time there. Only because you have two characters to place.

That's a shorter verison. Segment1-->Segment2-->Segment3-->Segment4-->Segment5-->repeat
You should download it LastingDawn, and then if you find a way to put songs into the game you could try both to see which one fits better.

Still sounding good, though I think the loop transition isn't as good.

True, loop transition is a little iffy, but much much improved. I can EASILY imagine this as a battle formation tune for mercenaries

Yeah, looping is slightly off IMO. Sometimes that happens because of the Flash player on Newgrounds. Have you tried downloading it? I think I could get that fixed though if it happened in the patch.

This sounds great! the loop transition really doesn't bother me much, but the song in itself fits the extremely tense mood of most of the patch. I am glad to see such work!
