Okay, so I've been working on a Terra sprite, but have stumbled upon an annoyance.  I can't test it in ShiShi for some reason.  I do all the normal shebang for testing out new sprites: I load up an existing sprite, then I import over.  But I can't get it to import.  Could someone tell me why ShiShi is disagreeing with me?

I'm keeping the rest of the sprite underwraps, but, as you can see, I'm trying a different approach to the "Defend" stance for Terra.  I'm trying to test out how it looks, but, as I said before, ShiShi and I are having problems.

use snes on an existing sprite (anything will do) changing the first 16 colors to match the esper, extract it and copy/paste her over that sheet and save, then you can import. (you sometimes have to do this to get a compatable .bmp type for shishi

I'll take a normal Terra  :D
I refuse to play Final Fantasy Tactics again until I am able to do my FF6 patch! And, FFT 1.3 doesn't technically count as FFT: so there!

ROFL

Funny you should mention that I was contemplating doing that a few days ago with that sprite, didn't want to seem like a copier though

hey if it were not for the sprites existing within fft none of the current ones would exist anyway.
you could work on her if you want, the body parts i suggest using are Jenna's head, and Balmafula's body without the cape + dancer arms

i already have another project lined up anyway so i wouldnt be working on that for a while. Miang of xenogears will be next after ive finished beatrix

Hey, Zoz, you mention to open any sprite with snes.  What program is snes?  I only use Graphicsgale.  perhaps I should get my hands whatever program you are speaking of.

its called "snespal" and its on the downloads section of this site
you can go in and change the colors one by one with it. just ender the r g an d b of each color to make it match your esper palette.

if you're not sure how it works let me know.

It's a sprite revival!  I got my new lappy-toppy and am up to it again.

I have an opinion question for my Esper Terra: Should her dead animation be a crystal of magicite?  I thought it was an awesome idea, but weigh in others' thoughts.

If I do it, I'm gonna base it off of two images:

Very awesome Kuraudo, it will be amazing to see you spriting again. I think having the crystal as the dead animation is cool, but do a normal dead animation as well.

Yes, yes, yes. That would be a very unique idea for a very unique character.

I agree the Magicite death is highly unique (sort of like Balthier's wounded pose continuing to look up rather then down)

sadness can be turned to delight.
A nation destroyed cannot be restored,
the dead brought back to life."

O agree with a Magicite death pose. Everything about this concept is awesome, so why not be awesome in death.

^ Biggest reason I modeled my sprite on Balthier. The Jacket is the second reason.
Oh pitiful shadow lost in the darkness, bringing torment and pain to others. Oh damned soul wallowing in your sin, perhaps...it is time to die

I don't agree with the others...
Why ?
In FFVI, when Esper Terra dies (If I remember well, she can), she goes back to her human form...
This would be the best dead pose in my opinion.
Magicite should be used for FFVI Espers, like... er...

It's really only a nod. In normal FF6 when you become Magicite, that's it. You're as good as dead. Just energy to be harnessed by those that hold your remains. The Magicite death here though is just tribute to the game itself, which is something I highly approve of.

Reverting back to normal form is an interesting idea as well.  If Zoz makes a human Terra I'll steal that from him.  But I thing I am going to do the magicite idea.

Does anyone know if characters do the "flinch" animation if they are hit while in the defend status?
