Like I said, I tested ISOs personally, and they did work, so it might be a problem with your ISO loader. What ISO loader were you using, so I can try to add support?

Not currently. LivePatch requires kernel access, which is something we're a long way from having on the Vita.

New version of unstretch.live for NA/EU and an initial version of unstretch.live for JP are up now.

I'm working on a JP version of the unstretch patch. It basically works, but I have a few small things to fix. I'll upload it tomorrow. I also found a bug in the NA/EU version, which I've fixed and will upload at the same time as the JP one.

It's possible it's a problem with your ISO loader. I haven't tested it against very many--it wasn't a priority for me.

And you're sure it's enabled in GAME.TXT? Strange...It really looks like it's not getting loaded, if you're not getting a log. It opens the log file right as it starts.

It should work fine with an ISO. Can you try the debug version and give me the log that gets dumped in ms0:/livepatch/log.txt? If no log gets created, then the module isn't being loaded properly. I know some people accidentally disabled plugins in the Advanced settings section. Have you tried looking there?

It's a little glitchy (or maybe that's how the game always was?) but I've uploaded a version of fast.live that works with the Japanese version of the game in the wotl-patches.zip file in the first post.

I don't currently have a JP copy, but I'll see if I can get my hands on one to fix it.

Is there any chance that this new method of patching could eventually apply a ppf on the fly? Might make consistently updated patches easier to work with.

This seems...unlikely. It would require me to basically stick a shim in between the block driver and the ISOFS driver, which is...well, I think I know how I can do that, but more to the point is that I'm not sure how I'd actually get the patches into memory. I basically cannot allocate memory while patcher is running, due to space restrictions in the kernel, so I can't just load all the patches and then apply them when that part of the block device is read. However, I won't say it's impossible. My real goal with LivePatch is to enable people to patch the individual files on the filesystem, instead of patching the filesystem itself. That's what I'm working on right now.

Unfortunately, I think the fix is incompatible with orgASM, as orgASM appears to be only for patching the FFT ISO-alike files, e.g. the ones that would have appeared on the PS1 disc. There is no analogous file, so orgASM isn't applicable. I don't know much about orgASM though. If it can change BOOT.BIN on the UMD ISO, it should work, but I see no evidence that it can.

You should download 0.1.3 (not the debug one) and wotl-patches.zip. The other ones are either old or unnecessary.

The script, the fact that (As far as I know, I might be wrong on this one) you cannot simply apply a patch to remove the slowdown

I literally changed three bytes to fix the slowdown. I just had the find the right three bytes. The purpose of LivePatch is so you don't have to patch ISOs, enabling people to use UMDs, and also to mix and match compatible patches (like how you can remove the stretching, or leave it there if you so desire, without having to tamper with the slowdown patch).

I've uploaded a new version of the patches that fixes the stretching in the Outfitters and maybe a few other places, so if you use the unstretch patch, I recommend redownloading the patches. The fast patch is unaffected.

Do you know what System Software it has? It's under System Settings > System Information. It if has 6.20, you're golden. I'm pretty sure if it's newer than 6.20, you're probably fine too. I've been a bit out of the loop, so there are better places to find this information, like wololo.net or qj.net.

It will work with an off-the-shelf UMD, however, you will need a softmodded PSP to use the patch. Fortunately, softmodding (installing "Custom Firmware") is generally easy and you can find guides to do this on Google.

Anywho, as long as your notes are added to the wiki, in some way, shape, or form, I'm happy.

Does this patch work with the PSN version?

I don't have it for PSN (nor have I been able to get PSN games I actually got legitimately over the summer working at all...) so I haven't tested it. I'm interested in hearing if it works!

I've uploaded 0.1.3, which fixes a problem with patches not being found sometimes when multiple modules are loaded on the system. Hopefully this will fix it for Alaris!
