Cannot patch tactics

I really have no idea how I'm supposed to patch this game. This is my first attempt at modding any games, and the simple fact is that though it may be clear to those of you who have experience in modding games, it is impossible to figure out for me. I've read all the faqs, and I've checked the boards, but I simply cannot find a step-by step, "How to make the patches work" guide, can someone please help me?

Well the patcher has a patch ISO option.

And if it's a ppf get ppf-o-matic.

Where the effe is gojoe when ya need em.

Simple step-by-step to get the patch to work:

1. Get the patch, if it comes as a .fftpatch continue, if it comes as a .ppf jump to step 6
2. Download FFTPatcher http://www.ffhacktics.com/psx/downloads.php?id=1
3. Extract and run FFTPatcher and open your .fftpatch file
4. Select Patch ISO from the menu on the top and find your Clean ISO, double click it or click and hit OK.
5. Use what ever emulator you have an enjoy the patch.

Thank you very much AuraDragon, I'm going to try that now, I hadn't thought to load the patch file after telling it to patch my game, for some reason this slipped right over my head, I can't wait to try out some new classes and abilities now This is actually my 50'th time through tactics (including PSX+PSP) so I'm ready to start modding I think, and darthpaul, when I get my wireless card I'm gonna re-install x-link, and it's on yo, lol.

I really like this board, I never really knew tactics had such a following. Just always been a die hard player.

What if my ISO is a .img and not a ISO? do i need a converter or perhaps another ISO?

what? I patch .img all the time with no problems at all using the patch ISO function

Yeah actually I tried as a shot in the dark and it works just fine, so I would like to say, I will have a completely new version of tactics coming to you all at an unpredicted date WOOT!

YAY finally patching tactics, although I do have one issue, I can't seem to get things to show up in the shops appropriately, can anyone help me out or has anyone else had trouble in this department?

actually I'm planning to rewrite it all, the story the classes and characters, I found a lot more useful stuff on some more forums, now that I know how to actually get things started lol

afaik you can only alter shop appearance for things already flagged to be sold in shops in the first place.  Which sucks, I'd enjoy a buyable Ultimus bow, among other things.  

What you can do it lose a redundant item and simply modify it to be like you want.  Blind Dagger no one wants?  Well, now it's a knight sword with 24 WP and it adds haste!  It costs 20000 gil and its available at checkpoint 14!  There's a lot of switcheroo that you can do(o).

Of course, the text is going to be all wonky for the moment >_>.  It'll still be labeled blind dagger.

Zodiac found the flags for shop inventories.
