Before I start, I'd like to explain that the reason I put this in *this* forum area is that this is a problem with FFTPatcher v0.328, not pSX itself.

Before this current version of the patcher, there have been no problems playing a patched FFT image in pSX, ePSXe, or any other emulator. However, with this current version and its native patching of the image, patched images no longer seem to load in pSX. Instead, it freezes after the second screen (the black PS1 logo screen, which means that pSX recognizes that it's a PS1 game, but can't get past that fact to actually *load* the game).

If desired, I could run further tests on this, but I figured I'd at least open with mentioning this problem.

The new FFT Patcher? Oh, well the newest version is v0.336 (http://sh3llz.com/~melonhead/rtload/336b.zip), but as far as I know it patches perfectly for me and I run it in a PSX emulator (PSXeven). Must be a specific problem you have. =/

Is FFTPatcher aware of whether the CD image is mode1 or mode2?

I dunno ... mine has always been Mode2 and works perfectly. In fact, I absolutely love the new patching. Takes but a couple seconds if you did a very large overhaul ... if not, it's more like 0.2 seconds. ;)

::Adds link to favorites:: Awesome.

As for the problem... It might lend a little more credibility to it being v0.328 if I mentioned that if I patch the image with v1.3 using PPF-o-matic3, it works perfectly fine in pSX. But if I patch v1.3 with v0.328, the freeze occurs. So it's most definitely not anything but something with v0.328.

I'll test with v0.336b though, to see if the same problem occurs.

I too love the native patching ability. It makes things 100x easier, and while I may have this problem, for testing purposes I can use ePSXe just as well as pSX, so either way I'm still saving a ton of time with this new patching capability... :)

Edit: Well, v0.336b worked like a charm. I guess I wasn't the only one who noticed this problem with patched images in pSX... ;D

Thank you very much for the link, btw.
