Hi everyone, I have a new format of FFT Arena available for play.

This mod is based off of the vanilla arena patch and serves more of a content hack with some rebalanced parameters for ai battle nuance. The original Hacktics Forum FFTArena is based off of the 1.3 hardtype mod, so this format's goal is to make most of the vanilla content available for battles, including monsters.

The rules have also been rebalanced for this format and differ from Vanilla Battles and original FFTArena.

These are the team guidelines & general changes from vanilla for this Arrange format:

-All original job titles & sprites are preserved, with reworked versions of original abilities/stats/rsm.
-All regular monsters are playable, including worker 8, apanda, demons, etc. with reworked attributes & skills.
-Each team cannot have more than one of the same Monster on their team.
-Each team is limited to no duplicates of any equipment, skill, or rsm. Multiple of the same primary job is still allowed.
-Serpentarius is not legal. Zodiac compat is the same as vanilla.
-Statuses have been reworked, some statuses have been changed to last on death or not count as a KO (such as blood suck).
-Fury is not implemented, and some weapons have their damage formula changed, which is denounced in the master guide.
-Each job can now only equip a few different types of accessory.
-Each job now has a bonus innate minor RSM that do not count towards your limit.
-Team units begin at 60/60 Brave & Faith, and brave/faith altering skills are legal.
-Teams are level 50.
-Job unlock cost is 250 each.
-JP Cap per unit is still 3000.

Please submit team list ideas in regular Memory Card Generator format. Once we have 8+ available teams, tournament-style video coverage will be possible.

Also, if you'd like to make a team format of all monsters, that is welcome for trying out all monster vs. monster teams.

Patch, Master Guide, and MCG linked below.

Any team submissions please post here, or you are welcome to direct message/email teams to me, or post in the linked discord server that I created for team lists. Any teams submitted will be updated onto the memory card generator for other users to play against.

Hi everyone,

I have been working for a while on a redesigned FFT Arena format based off of the vanilla tournament patch to serve as an alternative to our regular FFT Arena. The purpose of this patch is to give players a format of arena that is more akin to vanilla ai battles, but with multiple aspects rebalanced for the sake of pvp nuances, while not altering the game as drastically as normal Arena, which was more based off of the 1.3 hack, originally. The rules have also been rebalanced for this format.

These are the team guidelines & general changes from vanilla for this Arrange format:

-All original classes are preserved, with reworked versions of original abilities/stats/rsm.
-Statuses have been reworked, some statuses have been changed to last on death or not count as a KO (such as blood suck)
-Fury is not implemented, and some weapons have their damage formula changed, which is denounced in the master guide.
-Each job can only equip a few different types of accessory.
-Each job now has a bonus innate minor RSM.
-Team units begin at 60/60 Brave & Faith, and brave/faith altering skills are legal.
-Teams are level 50.
-Job unlock cost is 250 each.
-JP Cap per unit is still 3000.

Please submit team list ideas below. Once 8+ teams are submitted, I will work on hosting a tournament & post videos.

If you have any questions, requests for rebalance, etc, please message me on the arena discord!

Hi gang,

This will be our first edition of a No Duplicates tournament, ran on the latest patch 1.43 Beta

Rules:
The purpose of this tourney will be to examine the health of our metagame if teams become less redundant in their skill selection, rsm options, and equipment. This also provides a challenge for greater creativity in team building. Thusly, the player may not select x2 of any rsm, skilll, or equipment while building their team.

Additionally, there will be a few bans from this tournament due to the current patch being so new that we are yet to update it. These bans don't strictly indicate that all of these items are going to leave Arena, just that they are under enough examination in our balance discussions to indicate that their existence may overshadow the other options available.

The following equipment and skills are banned from this tournament:

Genji Shield

Hyper Shoes
Sprint Shoes

Flare Gun
Peacemaker
Throwing Knife
Lightning Bow

Drain Blade

---

Registration:
DM your team lists to me on Discord or have a friend do so that uses the group chat.

Format:
The format for this tournament will be Swiss, meaning there is no elimination. Each player will go best 2 of 3 in their round, and be paired up or down as rounds of the tournament progress. The number of participants depends on the number of rounds. If we have 9-16 players, there will be 4 rounds. Any more, and we will have the option to run 5 or cut it at 4. At the end of the final round, first place will be decided by point ranking, with each win counted towards your score.

What is an "Anti League" tournament?

The purpose of this tournament is to build the worst team possible within rules constraints; Scores/Advancement will be determined by how many Loses your team gets, not Wins:

- There is no JP Limit, but you *MUST* spend at least 2800 points on your unit.
- Brave/Faith are the same as regular Arena Rules (40-70)
- Items: Hyper Shoes, Toy Knife, Bags, Healing Weapons, or MP Damaging Weapons are all banned. If a unit is able to equip something in their slot (ie, shields), they must equip something over having a blank slot.
- RSM: You are not allowed to use Move = 0.
- Regular equip/job restrictions apply: No more than 2 of the same on items/rsm.
- You can't use 4 mimes :P

Why do this?
This tournament is mostly for the purpose of exploring mechanics, skills, and interactions that often go unobserved in Arena; due to players wanting to pick what they see as more ideal choices, more interesting/funny plays will occur. When a player is forced to work with what they think is the worst approach possible, it will give us more information on aspects of the game we could improve that normally do not get spotlight in regular play, yet could always still come into play for future games & players.

When does it start, when is the registration?
Now! Sign up either here or notify me via Dischord's arena channel, and we will cap the tournament at 8 players.

What is the format?
The format will be a double elimination.

When will the tournament start?
I will start pairings and begin scheduling stream time/match recordings as soon as we have 8 players.
