MESSING WITH EVENTS

º World Instructions
Allows to loads scenario slots, as editable in the ATTACK.OUT Editor.
For example this world instruction at Murond Holy Place:
0100 6E00 3400  1900 B901 0200If Value (0x0001) "Storyline progression" (0x006E) is equal to 0x0034, load scenario (0x0019) 0x01B9.

Version 1.02 and older's scenario lists are wrong. They are supposed to start with 001 and not 000.
So if you set your event to 0x01B9 in the World Instructions, edit the scenario slot 0x01B8.

Here the value "Event Script" in version 1.02 & older or "Event Conditions" in earlier version allows you
to set a slot which you can edit in the "Event Conditions spreadsheet"


º Event Conditions
This actually tells which TEST.EVT slot to load under specific circumstances, AND the main event slot.
For Example here is slot 0x0084 which is originally used by "Outside of St. Murond Temple":
0100 FD01 0100  1900 BC01If Value (0x0001) 0x01FD is equal to 0x0001, then load TEST.EVT slot (0x0019) 0x01BC

0x01FD is set to 0 after the event is loaded so that it does not repeat itself.

The actual events. Just use the Event Compiler/Decompiler.
If for instance the Decompiler did not create a file for the TEST.EVT slot you want to edit,
just copy another event and change the offset. Like if you want the slot 0x0009, take 0x0008's offset,
add 0x2000 and voilà. Offset(x00010000) + 0x2000 = Offset(x00012000)
Save and compile that event.


To be honest, I wrote this pretty much for myself because I had discovered the procedure but completely forgot how to... it's not actually that easy to remember when you have to mess with 4 different locations in 3 different files.

- Hex edit the new fps you want at 0x00105F08 (set by default at 120FPS)
- Make sure frame skipping is enabled: File/Configuration/Graphics/Frame Skipping

  You can set the fps very high, but it will still slow down on effects; whoever,
  AI decisions and unit movement will be completed much faster.
  You can also change the fps during gameplay with a memory editor at address

The idea is quite simple. I want a specific color for each palette for every generic unit (male/female). Those palettes will be used in tournaments like S4 (if there is one) and FFT: Arena. Currently the colors of the teams are unvaried, and often confusing because while on the same palette numbers, some teams have units of completely different colors. This way it would be way easier to follow the matches.

#4 Green
#5 White
#6 Purple
#7 Yellow
#8 Brown

Those have to be the main colors of the unit.
I tried to select colors that were already used mostly with each palette (for #2 to #5). Using my hack we can use all the palettes. I think the colors are varied enough and had enough trouble finding a 8th color. I tried teal but it was way too close to blue.

Not only can it cut in half the size of most PNG sprites on the forum, but it is also very simple to use.
You just have to open the small program and drag & drop your png/gif/bmp and it will save an optimized version for you; it will swap the color depth too if it can to save a lot of space. And obviously: no quality loss. I absolutely recommend everyone giving it a try. I first thought kokojo's PNG compression was badass, but this creates way smaller files.

I would prefer if it didn't have the forced "Always on top" though.

Note: PNG compression is more effective on larger, less colored pictures. You likely won't compress much more on a very highly detailed png, like a desktop screenshot for instance.

I will start the transition at 4:30PM (GMT -5:00), which means in 20min. Any post or modification after that time in phpBB2 will not be saved to the new board. Enjoy the ride.

You see, when I said that there is no god, it was the truth. But the definition that I gave of god was false. Yes it is true that a ton of gods are weaker than the xtian god, and that nothing prevents a being from reaching the power of many Greek gods like Zeus and company.
